Must try!
These pineapple tarts are amazing! I received them as a gift but they are truly the softest and most luxurious pineapple tarts I’ve had, on par with my mama’s pineapple tarts. Do considering patronizing them, their durian puffs and crepes are amazing too! Happy Chinese New Year to you 😊
Do.main Bakery is a casual, home-style French bakery at Tanjong Katong Road that has gained a loyal following from the excellent pastries and viennoiseries it serves. Besides the usual sweets, they do serve savouries like charcuterie (from Bar-roque Grill), quiches, and breakfast dishes. The Tartiflette "Reblochon" ($16) – comprising oven baked potatoes, bacon and cheese – is almost faultless. A classic combination and melty, gooey cheese? What's not to love? The Salted Caramel Eclair ($5) is easily one of the best we’ve ever had: filled with luscious salted caramel custard in a crisp pastry shell and topped with more salted caramel. Get some croissants, bread, or danishes to go as well. Or, indulge your sweet tooth in their High Tea set if you've got the time ($32 for two).
You shouldn't have to make the agonising decision between a red bean or peanut pancake if you love them both. At just 90 cents, you can get a mix of both red bean and peanut for the ultimate pancake here! There is almost always a queue for these soft, pillowy parcels, but you can pre-order a box for a mid-day treat for you and your colleagues.
Tumbling into Thomson V Two is Famous Ice Cream Rolls, the popular concept from Bangkok that has turned ice cream making into quite a spectacle. Watch as the liquid ice cream base is "fried" and chopped on a super cold surface, turned into solid ice cream, and scraped into rolls right before your eyes. Available in six flavours like Milk or Oreo, go for the Ovomaltine flavour ($3.90 a cup) for a taste of nostalgia. Go crazy with their additional toppings at 50 cents each, or pair the ice cream rolls with some waffles. Be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes, and to eat your ice cream quickly as it melts pretty fast!
Those who work in the One-north vicinity have welcomed this much-loved cafe with jubilation, now having one more awesome spot to pick up a (very) decent cuppa and irresistible bites. The Breakfast Burger ($6) with scrambled eggs and bacon jam (!) truly does make for the perfect breakfast, along with a double shot Flat White ($5.50) with a choice of beans from Axil or Nylon Coffee Roasters. Great for a light lunch bite its the Truffle Ham & Cheese Croissant ($7) — gorgeous chunks of brie sitting just-melted over a thick slice of honey ham, and just a slight hit of truffle mascarpone enough to make you forget you're having a bad day. Seats are limited to 4 at a round table, with narrow standing tables running along the sides. This is more of a takeaway spot, or a quick lunch with a colleague.
Surprise finding!!! Crab shell filled with Japanese rice, crabmeat and mushroom, encapsulated with an egg omelette and baked to perfection!
So cheap yet so so goooooooooodddddd!!! Conveniently located at The Cathay basement 1. Don't judge the shop by its location. The items are so so affordable yet delicious, definitely worth every cent! Most of the items are below $10.
In frame: Misato Paw Anmitsu (top, $5.90) & Matcha Zenzai Mochi (Bottom, $4.90). Even @littlemissbento approves!!!
Butternut, the pumpkin-ish look alike from this dish, didn't stand out much from the dish. The cube sized mushrooms on the other hand was a delight, will their earthy (new word learnt) taste, giving a nice bite and bouciness. Overall, the risotto was creamy and slightly heavy on the cheese taste, but I'm a person who enjoys a heavier taste.
On the side note, the baguette was crisp with a cream corn (?) taste to me. Pretty
Brought to us by the brilliant pleasure-makers at @icecreamcookieco, Pint Society is the latest supplier of feel-good food – ICE CREAM!
Here's how it works: you pick a subscription package ranging from $38/month to $29/month for a 1-year plan – delivery is free! – and each month, you'll be surprised at your doorstep with two pints of whatever flavour @pintsociety has conjured up in their kitchen. Yes, you don't even have to lift a finger, save for receiving the delivery and digging a spoon into the tub. THAT's what I call an indulgence.
As a preview, I received Pint Society's Cookie Butter ice cream, a freshly churned treat with swirls of homemade cookie butter and chunks of vanilla wafers. It looks innocuous, but every mouthful of that lush frozen cream resonates with the richness of caramelised cookies. This is seriously good stuff. So good that I licked all those dribbles right off my hand so none of it would go to waste.
I hear they're cooking up some other pretty amazing flavours like Maple French Toast, Cinnamon Donut and Mango Sticky Rice, so if you want to get in on this yummy business, head over to www.pintsociety.rocks to lock in your subscription now. Don't forget to key in FB10 to get 10% off!
Many do not know what a pescatarian is & will usually give a look when I tell them what it is. but yes friends, it's a legit word & there are people who have it as a diet.
So for those who are pescatarian, The Tuckshop has this Torched Salmon (S$20) that comes with semi-cooked Atlantic Salmon, Poached Eggs, Ebiko Roe, Asparagus, DouBanJiang Hollandaise & Croissant! What I love is how well cooked the salmon is & how the DBJ Hollandaise complements the Ebiko roe & salmon altogether! It's that good that those at my table were happily licking off every last bit 🙊
This was a hosted meal from @burpple & @thetuckshop! x

This saliva-inducing dessert has become synonymous with this café and even after seeing it again and again everywhere on social media, it still never fails to tempt even the most regular of diners. The food here is decent, but the dish that really takes the cake (ha!) is the Golden Custard Lava Cake ($12). It’s simple, really. Think lush warm chocolate cake smothered from the inside with gooey, rich, salted egg yolk custard that bleeds out of its cake mould at the very first incision. So sinful, yet so comforting and satisfying.
