when I was finding a place to eat around Kembangan on Burpple with their current location feature. The linguine bathed in "gao" salted egg yolk sauce was full of flavour yet not so jelat that you could finish the whole plate easily. Wish there were slightly more chili padi to give it more of a spicy kick.
The 3 fried large prawns ain't no pretty decoration with the batter sealing in all the sweetness of the prawns while still staying crisp. They were definitely the highlight of the whole dish!
Really enjoyed the homely atmosphere in this quaint cafe along East Coast Road - kid friendly definitely!
My favourite was was the summer pasta - i loved the texture of the homemade tagliatelle, which was wonderfully coated with garlic-ky, cheesy goodness, while still remaining light on the palette. And oh boy those shiso leaves were a fancy touch we both thoroughly enjoyed (kind of reminded me of Ikyu's chirashi). Thanks to the staff who were also so cool last night, laughing along and joking with us. What a great start to recess week.
Sweet potato latte ($4.80) and Blanc Bacon ($15.90) | fell in love with the latte at first sip! The pasta had the right amount of cream and it complimented well with the bacon bits and mushrooms. Great place to chill out - cosy and artsy at the same time.
I am a fan of the Tom Yam seafood spaghetti ($14.90), and also the cheese fries (not pictured here). It looked like laksa with more variations of seafood at first, so I was a little disappointed, but my complaints vanished with my first bit. Full bodied, slightly sour, and with that kick Tom yam has that we know and love, I'll definitely come back again! Best of all, they open till late.
