Fast Food Fever

Finally tried the heavily raved Nasi Lemak burger and I think it's almost safe to say it's worth every bit of attention it got! $10 for the feast with criss cut fries, Bandung mcfizz, coconut pie and Nasi Lemak burger. A tad pricey it may be, so to help manage costs, I recommend doing without the fancy drink and coconut pie, for the show stoppers were the burger and fries.

Loved how the chicken fillet tasted so strongly of coconut and the fried egg brought out the flavours even more strongly. The sambal added a nice touch, though it can be a little spicier. And the criss cut fries is just shiok lah, no further explanation required.

The highly anticipated Confirm Shiok set was a pure disappointment. Yes, they increased the salted egg portion but it didn't taste much. The twister fries were better alone than with the shaker powders. The only nice thing was the banana pie, I could eat many a day!

HELLO EBI-BODY!!!! Finally got around to trying the 2015 Ebi burger, which boasts to have whole shrimps, cereal batter and a spicy shrimp paste flavored sauce. I think it tastes much better than last year's rendition. That said, I didn't manage to pick out the cereal in the batter and would have liked for more sauce. OH, and the sweet potato fries are pretty perfect. Good job McDonald's!

My favourite item in the KFC menu is their Bandito and when I heard of their new Bandito campaign, I knew I just had to come down to try it. I tried the Fiery Buffalo Bandito and I kept going for my Pepsi to extinguish the little flame in my mouth. Spicy as it was, it sadly wasn't as flavourful as I had hoped. The buffalo sauce was pretty much tasteless, other than being spicy. The chicken fillet, however, is still finger lickin' good. Do note that while their advertising materials showcase lettuces within the Bandito wrap, there wasn't any in mine. Not too sure if this is an operational lapse or an advertising miscommunication.
