Ice Cream 🍦
The Red Velvet Ice Cream Burger ($6.90) - 2 red velvet buns holding a large scoop of Ferrero Rocher Ice Cream. That iconic Chocolate made ice cream really took centre stage over here - creamy yet not overly sweet paired with some coconut Nutella sauce (but there wasn't much coconut taste to it). The buns could be slightly more toasted to further enhance the flavour of the buns :)
While I like the buttery, crunchy crumble, the spiced peach filling was a little too sweet. Cut down on the sugar when macerating the peaches & it would be perfect! PS: I want that cast iron skillet! haha!
Got tempted by their waffles so decided to order one with the Speculoos Ice-Cream. Still the eggy and buttery batter that is fragrant and crispy; even better than the last time I had it. Speculoos Ice-Cream was a nice balance of sweetness with cookie dough flavours and crumbs to bite on which was delicious!
Finally got to try this! 😍😍
[NUTELLA KINDER BUENO BUTTERMILK WAFFLES WITH TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM S$14.90
All my life, I've avoided pistachio ice-cream like the plague because they tasted nothing like the real thing. Until the day I had a sample spoonful of the roasted pistachio soft serve at Sunday Folks. It's a world of difference compared to all others before (and after) with its nutty fragrance and most importantly, authenticity in taste. My $7.20 order got me a big swirl of the soft serve upon which chopped pistachios were scattered and a sugared puff pastry stick was stuck into. Underneath all that, at the very bottom of the cup, lay a small pile of cornflakes which was, I swear, the best possible match ever for the creamy pistachio ice-cream.
Taste like Fanta Green to me! A bit like bubblegum flavor. I like!! 😄😋

Very fragrant waffles topped with blobs of taro paste and drizzled with a vibrant purple taro sauce. The waffles are good. Light and crisp, and fluffy inside. This comes with a scoop of ice-cream - we chose the salted caramel flavour, which was alright but not impressive.
We tried Real Vanilla Soft Serve (with Chocolate Fondue & Maple Syrup) + 4 Waffle Sticks.
Tiramisu: Homemade Tiramisu cream (sans alcohol) & chocolate shavings. Would prefer it to be laced with Kahlua.
Bella Banana: Caramelised banana slices with pastry cream, chocolate syrup & crunchy peanuts. My favorite among the 4 even though I'm not a banana fan.
Apple Cinnamon: Caramelised crunchy apple slices with pastry cream, salted caramel & a sprinkle of cinnamon powder.
Smufy S'mores: Chocolate fondue, flame-torched marshmallows, graham crumbs. Looks pretty & tastes good too.
The waffle sticks were soft and a little chewy on the inside with crisp exterior. Goes well with the different sauces & toppings. The soft serves were slightly icy. A good thing cos they don't melt that fast. And vanilla bean specks is love.

(Tried to pour it evenly hence the not so pretty picture.) The gourmet waffle costs $6, additional ice cream at $4.50 per scoop for premium flavours which is almost everything. Waffles were decent, crispy and light but not as fragrant as I'd like. Could afford to give a little more salted egg yolk sauce. What was better than the waffles - their ice cream!! We had hay & honey, Earl grey lavender (fantastic if I didn't know it was Earl grey - couldn't taste any hint of that, overpowered by the light fragrance of lavender) and butter-freakin'-beer which was our favourite!! I'd very much love to come back for ice cream.
Finally made my way to Oblong for the highly raved Red Velvet Waffles!
