Brunch Faves
Nothing much to complain about this cafe, except for its long waiting time and no reservation is allowed. The signature avocado eggs Benedict ($15) was my favorite and not forgetting their full Monty big breakfast ($15) unfortunately I'm not a coffee lover but totally loving the iced latte here!
Just opened in the Bedok Reservoir neighbourhood is a new petrol station-themed cafe serving great and very affordable brunch. Staying true to their name and theme, menu items have theme-specific names such as 'Full Tank', 'Fill Me Up' and 'Refuel Pancakes'. Their chill cafe space also allows diners a true refueling experience away from the busy city. Start with the Full Tank ($13.90) or Banana Pancakes ($8.90), and get the White & Black Chocolate Tart with vanilla/ chocolate ice cream for dessert! According to Tastemaker Xing Wei, 'This was literally a slice from chocolate heaven.'
It was always a delight to visit BnB.
Brioche French toast was a little bland instead of sweet. I prefer the Gashouse Egg to Brioche French Toast. As for the drinks, it was a HUGE disappointment! I couldn't taste the matcha at all.
Serving incredibly satisfying Nordic-inspired fare like sandwiches on freshly baked sourdough, vibrant Nordic salads, and freshly ground coffee, it's no surprise that Gaest has developed a loyal following. For a simple weekend brunch, their Eggs-in-a-hole Sourdough Toast is the perfect choice. Not forgetting their ever-popular Pork Sandwich -- a delightful combination of roasted pork, crispy crackling, refreshing red cabbage slaw and apple slices on sourdough. There's something so refreshing about this unpretentious, sincere cafe that makes you want to come back. For uncomplicated, deliciously wholesomefare that won't break the bank, this is it.
Opened since January this year, Boufe, with its sun-lit minimalist interior, has very quickly become a hit among cafe-hoppers for capturing perfect shots. Situated within Phoenix Park in the Tanglin area, this cafe serves hearty brunch fare like the usual big breakfast (the Triple B), Eggs Benedict, French Toast, and classic Croque Madame. Go for the Truffle House-baked Baguette -- a delicious combination of crisp baguette with an earthy truffle mushroom ragout, egg and fresh greens -- it is so worth getting out of bed for! They also offer a range of pastries and desserts to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee. This is the kind of spot to enjoy some "me" time, the serenity certainly calms you.
South American-meets-Western dish by incorporating Quinoa Salad into Eggs Benedict. Deep Fried Quinoa patty laden with chili and greens with couscous served with Poached Egg and Smoked Salmon. Poached Egg was a wee bit overcooked but this was an interesting combination that worked out very well. Break the yolk on the Quinoa patty for extra pleasure.
We have to say that Strangers' Reunion simply does the best waffles in Singapore. Don't let that distract you from the amazing cup of coffee you're bound to get here, seeing it comes from our National Barista Champion, Ryan Tan. You won't be disappointed. * Strangers' has recently renovated, go check out their new menu and bigger space!
Artistry is known for being a happening hotspot for arts events. It's where budding artists share their work, and aspiring artistes take the stage at night. This is probably the only cafe you could get service from a "cute angmoh" ; ) Remember to give him a pat on the back for his passion to support the local arts scene, and of course, for serving gorgeous cups of coffee.

Symmetry along Jalan Kubor is possibly one of our little island's hippest hidden gems. With its distressed bricked walls and rustic-like vibe, the space spells indie and contemporary, and is just different from the rest without trying too hard. Symmetry holds its own with character and attitude, and stands by its mantra of being a 'humane' restaurant by serving up organic eggs and grass-fed beef. Favourites include the Flan which features chunks of tender pork cheek confit, and their luscious Eggs Ben. *Brunch available on weekends only!
Common Man Coffee Roasters ups the ante by pulling out the big guns, bringing together Spa Esprit Group, Harry Grover from 40 Hands and Five Senses Coffee (Australia) for the trendiest concept cafe of the season. CMCR sets itself apart from the rest by serving up a bevy of Middle-Eastern influenced all-day-breakfast items. We insist you try the Organic Eggs Benedict which comes with beautifully tender braised ox cheeks. Just come prepared to spend a little more than a common man would for a meal.
