since I live in bedok...
Not really a new place but I only found out about it recently when my wife wanted to eat rainbow cake and Lynda Ann's was one of places recommended. The cakes here are awesome!!! It's my wife and mine favourite cake shop now! The cakes that I had tried - Carrot cake, choc cupcake, choc cake etc were all very good and the texture of the cakes are moist and not dry and you dun have the overdose feel after eating it. Two thumbs up!!!
Living in Bedok and tired of having fried chicken from the same few commercial joints and that Arnold's seems a bit too far? Try Chickano, a new local brand of fried chicken that had recently sprouted in the Kaki Bukit neighbourhood. Menu consist of items such as combo meals, burgers and interesting sides such as satay; desserts are also available at the display fridge outside the restaurant. Being in Kaki Bukit also means that this fast-food restaurant is halal-certified; more dining options for our muslim friends! Service is slightly patchy for now as they are getting used to the set-up, and do note the lack of a soda fountain means that Coke is being poured out from a 1.5 litre bottle as of now (go for the Snapple which comes at no extra charge if you are particular about it). Hope that they would grow as time goes on!
Travelled all the way to the east to give this newly open cafe. Their cafe are designed cater to the petrol station theme. Menu ranging from Full Tank, Fuel ME up to REFUEL pancake. We had the recommended stack of pancake serve with scrambled eggs with Bratwurst Sausage at $9.90 nett. On a side note, what are the must try cafe in the east? Please let me know! š
Came back here after seeing another fellow Burppler's burp here and just craved for it. The stingray is still tender, but the key is in their Sambal that seemed to had a tinge of Chinchalok; spicy, tangy and full of flavour
How often do you get to see this in Singapore nowadays? It is slowly becoming a lost trade and we must preserve its heritage now for the future generations. If you happen to be around the Bedok vicinity, do drop by the Bedok North 216 market to have a try at this old school snack.
A cosy spot under a Bedok HDB flat suitable for young families and groups of friends, To-gather Cafe truly is a place to gather. With really reasonable prices, you can get Chocolate Lava cake ($3.80) and a coffee, or a dinner of tasty Grilled Pandan Chicken Chop ($8.90). Along with great ambience and service, there's no reason you shouldn't drop by this lovely cafe if you live nearby. Photo by Elaine Koh
