50 Restaurant brands across the city has dedicated a whole month (01 July to 10 August) to celebrate the nation's golden jubilee in an culinary way - deliciously and affordably.
One of the city's most venerated seafood power house - Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant offers the whole Barramundi fish at an unbelievable price of $18 per 500g.
The locally sourced baby Barramundi is deep fried and served with crispy cuttlefish that have been tossed with honey and kaffir sauce. The dish is good for sharing two person, but at a whopping low price of $18, I wouldn't mind having one fish all to myself.

Privileged to be part of the gastronomic Food Trail launched by Restaurant Association of Singapore, featuring 50 new dish creations from 50 participating restaurant brands using Singapore's local produce.
The inaugural Singapore Restaurant Month will be starting from 1 July to 10 August 2015. I will not be reviewing all 50 restaurant brands, but handpicking some noteworthy dishes that stands out to me, such as this 3-Grain (Barley, Quinoa, Arborio rice) Laksa Risotto paired with homemade Seabass fish cake.
This dish is one of the 5-course meal from the SG50 menu featuring the main local produce, Seabass which is actually from Pulau Ubin. More details can be found at www.singaporerestaurantmonth.com
Take your pick from the Oven Baked Beef Rib with Grilled Ocean Perch ($25.95), or with Flaming Prawns ($23.95), Beef Bouillabaisse with Beef Patty & Seafood ($16.95) or lastly the Handmade Beef Patty & Tempura Prawns Burger ($15.95) are available at all 16 MFM outlets till 31st May 2015.
My fave dish among the four was the mildly spiced tangy tempura prawn & melted cheese beef burger with chips, which is quite an ideal pairing of the land and sea.
