Not-so-typical Malaysian Fares!
This true masterpiece hailed from the Old Lim Kok Wing building next to SK Taman Megah. An extremely generous serving of jumbo sausages, shredded chicken, salami, chicken wings, ribs, lamb chops and a slab of mashed potato drenched in overflowing gravy smacked right in the centre. Also, an amazing garlic cheese naan served here, utilizing the most cheeses, including (and especially) mozzarella, among everywhere else. A truly understated haven, this marks the revolution and birth of a new era of Malaysian delicacies, I kid you not. Saying this much probably spilt more juices than that platter would.
What better way to bring in them Hong Kong vibes to Malaysia than to have Dim Sum?! A popular breakfast option among the urban Chinese communities, it slowly merged its way into the 10 to 10 circle of restaurants. Jinxuan stands at the higher range of the casual dining experience, but based solely on the flavours, it encompasses the range of dishes as much as we could ask for. Very fresh and with serving trays going around non-stop rotations, it's a viciously continuous cycle especially during the weekends. Considering the convenience of finding an outlet and the overall standard of the Lau Sar Pau (Yellow custard bun), you'd pretty much know where to find me if I'm craving a basket or two.
The signature pasta dish here boasts an even blend of sambal and tomato purée with a moderate serving of seafood that compliments well. The space is fogged with traditional Malaysian village-like interior, making the area of Telawi, Bangsar livelier looking. The fusion styles here distinctively used Malaysian touches to cross with the casual western fares, making it one of its kind. If you ever come down to Malaysia and you something slightly fancy and local at the same time, this is the place to be.
One of the few of it's kind, an absolutely typical-looking rice stall somewhere within SS15 of Subang Jaya, but things took a turn (for the better) when my teeth sinked into the chicken drenched in the creamy and buttery sauce that marks the highlight of my years to come. Also, have a go at the buttermilk squid and tom-yam fried rice, which I personally think really goes hand in hand. Passionately and professionally speaking, this is the best shit ever.
