We all need a second dinner.

I write, not because the duck is so amazing that I can't leave without it. But I write, because of the ultra kind hospitality that the owners of this small joint had shown, twice that I was there. As you know, my meal times are so irregular that usually dinner is probably at 10pm onwards. As stated, they closed at 10pm, but at 10pm they still welcome me in, to cook up a storm just for me. I was extremely touched, especially when they had already washed up and prepared to close for the night. The decor of the place is so inviting, homely, and extremely warm that you might feel like you just entered into their house. The oven baked duck that I ordered is done nicely, not dry, seasoned just right, and drizzled with their homemade cranberry sauce. Tender meat, just fall off the bone so easily, that I did not have any issue cutting up the meat. The salad on the side, is crisp and the dressing had a dash of sour vinaigrette. The smashed potatoes on the side, smooth and delicately season well, with good amount of bacon bits tossed in to make the potatoes a good balance. Oh, did I mention that they have a good extensive list of beers and sake. Probably a good place to chill out, only any given day, if you are nearby.

This franchise probably wet your appetite, but somehow lacking. Perhaps the lack of vinegar sourness, or maybe the Chili isn't that kick-ass. Thankfully the noodles are done nicely, not overcooked and bloated. Generous in ingredients, and those mushrooms adds a nice touch. That meatball is the star of the dish, but at the same time I can't help thinking that it's just another factory made balls. Great if you like to have something other than pratas for supper.

I wouldn't say this is one of the best Prata, but seeing this joint expanded to the shops at it side, made me smile. I practically grew up having their food, since I was 13 years old, when I had numerous camps in school (ranging from dance camps to prefectorial camps, to leadership camps, and what not!), and we always sneak out of school to have supper. The staff are friendly and the pratas are always made fresh, which is important as recently there is a lot of places that pre-made and fried which usually left them soggy after awhile. While the pratas are not memorable, but it sure bring me down the memory lane, reminiscing the past. I am sure those staying within the area will agree so! #hawkerpedia

This is one of me and my neighbour's go-to place whenever we have sudden midnight hunger pangs. One of us would text to ask if the other is up for kway chap, and naturally, even if we weren't hungry, the reply would always be, "see you in 5 mins". That's how fast we decide, giving ourselves an excuse to go to our favourite supper place! They only begin operations at 8pm, and close when they sell out, or at 4am. This joint really is the bomb to me! The intestines are always cleaned so well that they never have the meaty, smelly organ stench. The kway is so smooth, and the black braising sauce is just delicious. It's so satisfying, light, and best enjoyed after a long night. #hawkerpedia

Omg move away geylang. I just found a gorgeous joint off the road of braddell, that served up a mean hot claypot of gongbao frog leg porridge. It's so spicy that you will tear but cried for more, because it's that good. Mixing both dry and chopped fresh chili, this pot literally set me on fire, in pain, joy and shiokness. Ordered that stingray and I found it to be one of the better bbq stingray I had in a long time. The stingray is bbq all the around that even the chili is bbq through, that the dish does not leave that chili residue behind, that you will feel like have a mouthful of oil in your mouth. Charred on the outside, but so soft and wet in the inside. So sedap😭👍

Thought of giving it a shot, but the soup lose out terribly to the famous promfet seafood soup I had in woodland. The soup is undoubted tasty, but not strong enough. I like mine with full of punch. Sadly I didn't finish the soup til the last drop. Good for anyone who is sick, or needed something warm in the Bukit timah area (store opens til late). $8.80/bowl, I am not sure if it's worth it. But nonetheless yummy enough, but not the best.

Not for the faint-hearted. Some are too bloody that I can't bring myself into eating them. But I have some friends who love them the way they are. In a bloody hot mess. 😂

Wouldn't be the best place for these snails. But, considering the close approximate from my place. I'll say it's good enough. Fresh and medium sized, the only thing lacking is the belacan in which bedok 85 have the best ever. || Price: S$8/small

Old-school eatery right on Upper Thomson. The people, and vibe and ambience can't get any 70s that this. The fish porridge which is a must have for all tables around is bursting with flavor and texture, loaded with cabbage and ginger. This brings back a lot of memories. Their HK dimsum wouldn't be the best in Singapore. But definitely, one of the most homely.

Tonight is simply delish, full-blown peppery soup that is perfect for late night wake-up. The prime meat, is tender. And the stomach slices are well cooked and most importantly cleaned (or else the stomach will give off a smell, if not clean thoroughly)!! The intestines are a tad hard for my liking but overall, it's a great place for supper. || Price: S$26.10

Delicious for a dinning place near a club. But I wouldn't say that I would be highly impressed. But the fries are well fried. || Price: S$16
