Mega late on the customisable sushi bandwagon. Mega-san includes 1 wrap + 1 rice + 5 essentials + 1 sprinkles + 1 specials + 1 house sauce. K commented that my combination was quite good but I believe it's the freshness of the ingredients la. (I had the traditional nori + brown rice + avocado + crunchy jellyfish + roasted mushroom + steamed ebi + sweet corn + wasabi furikake + yuzu sesame + grilled unagi fyi.) 15% discount with PAssion/ NTUC card! Blur picture because we were busy ranting about work to each other hahaha.
Used the entertainer app & got 2 Rising Sun Half Rolls at $6.90 with my colleague hoho. Had my half roll in front of my workspace but it was no sad lunch because of the generous portion of ingredients. Wanted to order this for our meeting next week but tak halal 😔
The Kurobuta Miso Wazen (SGD16.90 before GST & service charge) is indeed a value treat. From bottom left clockwise are the black pork nabemono, prawn & pumpkin tempura, & grilled scallop with mushroom & miso mayonnaise sauce. Not in picture but included in the set are the chawanmushi, miso soup & watermelon. Not sure why there's a chili symbol beside its name on the menu because nothing was spicy?? The black pork was tender but be sure to soak all the meat in the soup before eating (Some parts weren't cook when it was served). I know the chawanmushi isn't the selling point but it goes really well with the pork. The tempura wasn't too fancy though. Eat it asap once it's served. The scallop sauce was also a bit too salty for my liking.
The portion of chirashi don (SGD28) and the sake salmon maki (SGD5) were very generous (read: thick slices of goodness). The complimentary side dishes were good too though I have no idea what the tea leaves looking dish is haha. I also recommend the yuzu ice cream (SGD5) which the chef waited till after we finished our food before serving. 😊 Aside from the compulsory drink charge (SGD2/pax), there is no GST or service charge!
