Honey butter toast, cheese toast, injeolmi toast, sounds delicious right? Unfortunately, the bread here is quite subpar. Honey butter toast was slightly too sweet with the caramel and vanilla ice cream. The cheese used in the toast was the milky, processed kind which was quite unpleasant. The best for me would have been the injeolmi toast, boosting a layer of chewy rice cake and a heaping of fragrant injeolmi powder.
Pretty good dim sum at reasonable prices! The liu sha bao had a good ratio of bread to custard. I like the amount of meat they stuff into the dim sum! My favourite is the yam pastry with meat filling - fried yam with delicious meat sauce! Worth a visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper.
Place to satisfy your dessert cravings till midnight! I imagined a very sweet mango dessert but the tartness of the pineapple caught me off guard. Toast was rather dry and boring and the mango sorbet a tad artificial. Wasn't such a fan of the sauce but the maple syrup helped a lot. The grated coconut was a nice addition to add an interesting texture and taste. Perhaps I got my hopes to high after seeing glorious pictures of the toast, thus was disappointed.
Quite a cozy place with a wide selection of beer that changes regularly. Also had the truffle wedges which were crispy and perfect companion to the beer.
Fish balls were good, tasted fresh with a good texture. I loved the juicy tau pok fish paste! Bits of wonderful fried pork lard, a must have in any noodle dish. I didn't like the mee pok, wasn't cooked well as it was too clumpy. And the cloying yellow noodle taste was hard to stomach.
This was so bad. It feels warm and fluffy but really when you eat it becomes mushy and clumpy. Tastes like what you can get from local supermarkets frozen section. You will need a cup of hot tea after eating this. All that glitter is not gold.
Open daily from 6pm-6am except Tuesday. This is the spot for dim sum supper. The dishes to order here are the red bean fried pancakes, Mee suah kueh, har gao, siew mai and xiao long bao. Other stuff like their noodles and porridge are really meh.
Cheap and good! Curry isn't the chokingly spicy nor the full of chilli oil kind. Not exactly a great place to hang out because of the heat but it sure will fill your hunger and craving very well!
Lots of chunky chicken pieces that were very well marinated and tender. The slightly sourish kimchi, chicken chunks, mushrooms, lemongrass flavour, smokey chicken sausage, all came together wonderfully. The rice was moist and not grainy. This dish is a winner. Serves 3-4 pax at $38.90. Place is really spacious and good for a night snack chilling session.
Quite a good rendition of the korean pancake. Slightly crispy and full of flavour from the batter, it reminded me of a well executed thin crust pizza. There are even some pieces of shrimp on the pancake! Dip it in the slightly tart sauce and it makes for a great appetiser! Quite pricey at $8.90 for that few slices. Closes at midnight on weekends.
Relatively economical supper till midnight! Chicken was rather average, more of the meaty chewy kind. The soy sauce and chilli didn't leave any impressionable taste. Rice was quite dry though fragrant. The big bowl of soup was free but was rather bland. Still, better than most but definitely not one I will have in mind when I crave for chicken rice.
Didn't feel like splurging $20 for a bowl of beef noodle so went for the $12 beef brisket noodle (comes with soup). Noodles were springy with a good bite to it. Thinly sliced beef in the soup was good, bit bland but was cooked nicely and was so velvety smooth! Beef balls were a let down, very bland and had a slight odour, had to eat it with a generous helping of the tangy chilli. Overall good place to chill!
