Don’t come here expecting your traditional Mexican cuisine and you’ll probably still be happy with your meal. Pretty affordable, with tacos going at less than $20 for 3pcs each. We tried the Cajun Chicken tacos ($16) and Root Beer Pulled Beef ($18). The former was rather dry unfortunately. But the beef taco was braised well, retaining moistness that went well with the onions and sour cream within it. The tacos themselves were interesting. Neither the soft tacos nor the hard ones - these were flour tortillas that had been toasted to crispness. I quite enjoyed them actually! The Jalapeño Mid Wings ($10) were generously portioned, and were lip-smackingly saucy, smothered with a salsa picante/lime/garlic/honey sauce. Skip the mocktails which are pure syrupy and lacking in any flavor other than sweetness.
With a decent selection of burgers to choose from, and a variety of meat fillings, there is sure to be one that satisfies any appetite. We opted for the Portobello ($25), which came with their standard 150g Angus Chuck patty. Was super impressed by the succulent patty, and juicy mushrooms that burst with flavor in or mouths. The Mangalica Pork ($26) was something different - you don’t often get a pork patty do you? Though tender as well, I still leaned towards the beef as my top choice. What was interesting though, was the tomato bacon marmalade and pineapples which lent a tropical touch to the pork patty and complemented it well! The sesame buns that sandwich the burger are a highlight too, toasted to a nice crispness on the grill with crunchy sesame seeds on top. Definitely one of the better burgers out there!
The Iberico Pork Tomahawk ($48) was simply drool-worthy with its smoky aroma, and delightfully tender texture. It came with roasted rum-infused pineapples on the side, as well as a moreish pistachio crust that we devoured. The Prime Ribeye ($48) was served medium-rare, as recommended by our friendly waiter, and the bite was just perfect. Though the portion looked
small, it still made for a filling meal. Don't skip the side dishes because they are a great complement to the meal! The Paris Mushrooms ($10) were bathed in a laksa beurre blanc sauce that was simply addictive, and when you mix in the poached egg on top, it's the bomb! Also ordered the Brussel Sprouts ($8) which were served crisp, with bacon on top. It was an acquired taste, but we enjoyed it increasingly as the meal went by. #burpple
A delightfully wobbly egg perched atop a #truffle potato #mousseline with a swirl of fragrant brown butter. Roasted macadamia nuts sprinkled on top lent texture and a nutty aroma 😌😋 #burpple
Featuring their signature Crispy Oven Roasted Pork Knuckle, Oven Roasted Chicken, Honey Bavarian Ribs and Berner Sausages. It was impossible to select a favourite! Said to feed 6 pax, but it could easily satisfy 8-10. 😍Thanks @burpple for extending the invite and @foodcultpr @jennytanwrites for hosting us :) #meatfeast #meatlover #burpple #burppletastemaker #german
While you can't escape from hearty meats in a German restaurant (typical Bavarian), the chef introduced a lighter touch with dishes such as this Pan Seared Barramundi ($32), which featured locally-sourced fish that was incredibly fresh, evident in the plump, firm meat, with a beautifully crisp skin. It sat atop a bed of egg noodles enveloped in a fragrant cream herb sauce. This was a hosted tasting by @brotzeitsg, courtesy of @burpple. #burpple #burppletastemaker
Tucked away in lush greenery, and set in a spacious, high-ceilinged space that looks like it was converted from a barn, this place oozes serenity. Imagine sipping a glass of wine with a spread of hearty dishes scattered over a large table, perfect for a gathering of big groups. We thoroughly enjoyed the Parpadelle Pasta that came in a umami lobster bisque, and the Black Angus Brisket Burger, where the meat was deliciously tender with an incredible smokey aroma. The picture features a pork leg which was a special dish they had that day. Burpplexchope
These fries were made for me! Char Siew is one of my favourite flavours and I never imagined it to be interpreted as a topping for fries in the form of a char siew ragout, with an added boost from jalapeño salsa. This was shiok! Only downside was that there wasn't quite enough. #burppleXchope
Absolutely scrumptious!! Couldn't get enough of that lobster meat 😋 and those fragrant truffle fries on the side were really addictive too. #burpple #lobsterroll #trufflefries #foodporn
Almost forgot how good this stuff is 😋🍻 #burpple #foodporn #foodstamping #komex
