Lately, I’ve become a bit obsessed with cheese. I think it’s an accumulation of my meals at 3-MICHELIN @lesamisrestaurant where on every visit, @manoj_sharmahm has unerringly prepared the most incredible platter from their impressive cheese trolley, and my blissful encounter with the Aged Epoisses and Truffle Brie more recently at @odetterestaurant, another 3-MICHELIN Starred venue. So I wasn’t about to say no when a charming message about sending me cheeses came through from @la_petite_boutique_sg.
Trust the vivacious team to put together the choicest selection in such an attractive style, with fresh figs and berries nestled among their French dairy products. It was honestly camera-ready picture-perfection. Picking a favourite from the lot wasn’t possible as I enjoyed every one of the cheeses for different reasons: the cow’s milk Truffle Brie because it’s indecently rich and aromatic with truffle, the Mobier for its unique history and creaminess, the goat’s milk Selles-sur-Cher from the Centre-Val de Loire region for its salty pungence, the Comte because it offers a mild sweetness and firm chew, and last but not least, the raw cow’s milk Fourme d’ Ambert for that lovely buttery texture and intense flavour.
By the way, to thank the support they received during the Circuit Breaker and Phase 1, @la_petit_boutique_sg is doing a #giveaway on Instagram (closing date to join is 7th July 2020). Why not try your luck at winning one of their three sets of Cheese Box? Do check out the post for details on their Instagram account.
Known as the holy grail of French raw milk cheeses, it is at once creamy, goopy, funky and buttery. 2 weeks later and I'm still craving it. I might just have to head down to their Serangoon Gardens outlet to grab one and check out the rest of their Christmas catalogue!

Freshly made Truffle Brie by La Petite Boutique! Made with fresh Truffle, Mascarpone Cheese and a secret ingredient they won't reveal. Words cannot describe how good this was! You'll have to pay La Petite Boutique a visit and grab yourself a huge slab of it whilst trying not to get distracted by all the other drool-worthy cheeses in-store! 🧀

After starting our evening at Savour 2016, a bunch of us made our way to a cheese and wine event hosted by Morgane and Jean Baptiste of @la_petite_boutique_sg at Visionairs Gallery Asia. Over there, we hit the big table spread with assorted French cheeses hard. The selection was impressive and everyone had their favourites.
My top picks were the Triple Brie and the Morbier (that's the pale orange coloured half wheel of cheese at the bottom of my photo). I really enjoyed the mild nutty flavour of this seasonal semi-hard cheese. By the way, that grey streak running horizontally across it is ash!
Jean Baptiste who co-owns La Petite Boutique, explained to me that this particular cheese was actually born out of a necessity. Do have him share the details of its history with you when you drop by their shop in Serangoon Gardens. It's fascinating.
So happy that I can pick up a proper baguette without traveling to town
So Aromatic! Love the burst of Truffle flavours in my mouth!
