La Maison Fatien is one of my favorite French restaurant and this time I got to try it on restaurant week! We started off with some warm bread and butter, then quickly to the appetizer of cured salmon with lentil salad and hollandaise. The salmon was lovely but am not a big fan of lentils. Next up for mains we chose both the duck confit pie and truffle infused short ribs. I've always liked the duck confit here so needless to say, the duck confit with mash and thyme juice was a winner for me. The short ribs has very light taste of truffle, tender but towards the end had a little tough. The mushroom ragout that accompanied it though, was surprisingly good. For dessert, we had homemade carrot sorbet which tasted like frozen carrot juice. Good try but I think I prefer their usual menu to the special menu for this restaurant week.
Let the picture do the talking! Worth going for only this dish!
No French meal should commence without some foie gras! This was a pretty decent serving...
A decent duck confit but defiantly not one of the best in Singapore. The restaurant has a lovely brickwork wall design and French vintage portraits but lacks still in ambience!
One of the best icecream profiteroles I have had in Singapore. Drench the chocolate sauce over to your desire
How all French meals should commence...indulgence in foie gras. La maison did a decent job!
