Best pad Thai I’ve had in town. Usually only available for lunch but the chef offered to cook it for us for dinner. Sweet, salty and spicy all at once. Noodles were perfect, coated with fish sauce and more (I saw him add a dash of many things) and cooked over charcoal which gives it a tinge of smokiness. For some sweetness, he adds star fruit slices. Yum.
They’ve warned me that it’s going to be spicy, and I can’t deny the fact that even as a spicy food lover, I was sweating a little. But that’s only a small price to pay for the best dish of the night.
Yes it was spicy, but I’d rather describe it as “so spicy it actually gets addictive at one point and I wouldn’t mind downing the crab curry even if it means I’ll be having a hard time feeling my tongue”
It goes SO well with the jasmine white rice. We already had a plate of pad Thai, but you can’t miss out on rice when it comes to Thai curry!
Creamy, flavourful and filled with crab meat (not to mention spicy)!
PS. I still dream about this dish at times
Honestly not a huge fan of gizzards, but I just HAD to try this.
The texture reminds me of squid; it’s coated in a light, savoury batter and stir fried with dried chilli, hence it can be a tiny bit spicy, but not too extreme.
It’s great as a snack/appetiser!
My first time here! Had the Pad Thai (to start) the feast and it was AMAZING. So flavourful and the noodles were cooked just right. It’s loaded with bean sprouts, tofu cubes and prawns! So good I wanted a second plate but still gotta save some tummy space for the spicy feast.
Locate this northeastern Thai restaurant in Republik for a culinary adventure with the gang. Headed by Chef Gug, you can expect tantalising dishes made with fresh ingredients. Begin your meal with the Kreng Gai Nai Tot Song Kreng (RM18) — deep-fried gizzards that are best paired with their house-made Sriracha sauce. Have the creamy and spicy Geng Pua Bai Chapulu (RM62), a yellow curry with fresh crab meat. Also share the juicy grilled kampung chicken, Gai Yang Kao Suan Kwang (RM42), that features irresistible crispy skin.

Another must-try is the Southern Thai yellow crab curry; this dry curry is super aromatic with chunks of crab and intense wok hei. Great service, amazing food and very affordable, definitely on my list to revisit.
