Coconut Custard and jaggery(indian cane sugar), topped with a white chocolate cream. It tastes like a pecan pie without the pecans kind of, the crust is soft and quite dense. The filling has some complexity, and the white Choc cream works as well
All in all an easy to love, safe dessert, not too much wow
Overall:
If you're looking for safe food with familiar flavours and frankly trite but textbook execution, this is your place. However if you're looking for something to blow your mind, this is as far as it gets. It's almost exactly what you would expect, really, and not in a good way
Basically appams but done well, it's crispy and the egg in the middle was perfect, it matches well with the Hoppers. Unfortunately the Hoppers lose their crisp quickly. It's got a coconut savouriness to it, but doesnt really matter since it's just going to be a vessel for gravy
A good duck confit, with slightly peppery curry. Again, slightly different from indian spices, but familiar and full bodied.
Not too bad. I have to say tho, it's pretty obvious these kinds of elevated Cuisine caters to a specific kind of audience, so the food is usually quite expected. Western techniques+some sauce which has some spices but is not too Offensive.
Sri lankan red curry, well executed and tender but quite a skinny Lamb shank tbh. The red curry was thick and flavour was not bad, it's perceivably different from indian spices but still very much familiar. A hearty and safe dish
