As for their mains, I got their Ikura Salmon Cutlet on Flavoured Rice ($24.80) which was embellished with a generous amount of homemade egg tartar mayo sauce and briny salmon roe. Sweet, tangy and savoury. Paired with cherry tomatoes, avocado and crunchy shredded purple cabbage, the bowl also had plenty of textures and the veggies helped counter the heaviness of the fried cutlet as well.

Here for Kohaku Sabo's seemingly gimmicky viral Bouncing Kitty Set ($13.30), the milk puddings were surprisingly good. The jiggly Coconut Milk and Taro Milk puddings were both creamy, smooth and rich. None were too sweet, and the flavours didn’t taste overly artificial either. A fun after-meal dessert to share with others.

Kohaku Sabo’s Japanese “Tea and Dessert” experience is available everyday from 1.30pm onwards. They also have a tempting kohaku matcha parfait and the option to customize your own lattes with flavours like black sugar and strawberries. It’s simply too hard to resist ordering desserts after having your meal here!

Introducing Kohaku Sabo’s Japanese sweets menu! Our sweet tooths were thoroughly satisfied with their 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗲 ($𝟭𝟮.𝟴𝟬). This dessert featured Japanese sweet potato topped with velvety custard and bruleed on top for a perfect golden caramelised crust. The moment we cracked through the sugar crust, we were greeted with a satisfying crackle, unveiling a golden treasure beneath. Roasted to perfection, the sweet potato offers a delectable mix of nuttiness and natural sweetness. The sweet potato was so creamy it was almost like eating ice cream HAHA. Paired with the cold vanilla ice cream, the contrasting temperatures and flavours made it perfect for sharing.

In addition, our tastebuds were delighted with their 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼 "𝗞𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗼" 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢-𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮 ($𝟮𝟬.𝟯𝟬). Quite a few tables had ordered their mochi mochi dango and were having fun grilling away. Mix and match the dango with red bean, mitarashi sauce, and kinako powder (our favourite was matcha dango and mitarashi sauce + kinako powder)!

We ended this sweet experience with their 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 ($𝟳.𝟱𝟬) 🍵 which was a solid palate cleanser that goes with both kohaku’s delicious mains and desserts.
