Had this Lao San Prawn Noodle ($4.90) and I would say it is not bad.

However, downside is the waiting time is long and their cooking time is quite slow.

Be prepared to wait for good food

So I decided to venture on my own and sacrificing my dinner to hunt down the better food places.

Turned into this place after dropping a sweet & cheerful air stewardess. Decided to try this roast meat joint and to my surprise the sio bak's fats melted in my mouth while the skin was crunchy. Roasted duck was good too but char siew was a little too hard. Overall pretty good!

Whole Spring Chicken Set ($10.80)

My one greatest weakness is for friend chicken, whether it is fried chicken skin, friend chicken wings or fried whole spring chicken! It is really good value to get a whole spring chicken deep fried till golden brown served with 2 sides of your choice at such an economical price. This @chargrillbar.sg is a chain at some Kim San Leng coffeeshops so it won't be difficult to patronize them!

The spring chicken smelt great when it arrived. The skin was nicely seasoned and crunchy. The breast meat was as usual a little drier but overall, this chicken was fried so well that some parts of the bone just felt like the batter crumbs! It is therapeutic to be slowly devouring the entire fried bird😋!

Herbal Bak Kut Teh ($7.50)

I have never been a fan of the herbal type of bak kut teh and always preferred my bak kut teh peppery. This newly open stall called Xiang Lai Herbal Claypot in my hood serves mainly claypot items including this bkt. The soup here is not as herbally as the traditional bkt and aside from the usual pork ribs, they also add lean meat slices, pork balls and pigs stomach. Overall, not a must try but definitely comforting if I am lazy to travel and want to have something soupy on a ⛈cold rainy day.

Additional 20¢ for a small plate of the house special homemade chilli. But it's worth it! I'm lucky that the queue isn't that long today. & it's such a good weather to eat such a hot bowl of food❄ #burpple #hawkerfood #sghawker
