All Day Menu dish, Penang Char Kway Teow at Killiney is consistently satisfying for many years everytime..Ideal for Two actually..dont say didnt jio..
$5.50 for this plate of Hainanese Bee Hoon that is filled with Wok Hei. The noodles are slightly too oily, however the flavours are amazing. Best paired with green chopped chili if you ask me!
Not a fan of the sour sauce, unfortunately. Quite tasty otherwise - would have again if they allow a change of sauce.
To be honest, I didn't know they had this dish till today. Had to give it a go of course, and apart from two less than satisfying points (portion was a bit small and the hard "taupok" stubbornly refused to absorb the curry), I found it really quite good otherwise. Thick in consistency, the curry was more than sufficiently spicy (especially after I stirred in some "sambal"). The yellow noodles, beansprouts, crunchy long beans, prawns and pieces of boiled chicken tasted yummy soaked in it.
The garlic here is loud and proud. But man, this is one tasty plate of fried noodles. Strong "wok hei" aroma plus ingredients a-plenty for the price (there's fishcake, prawn, chicken, "chye sim" and some egg), the portion is actually pretty big (but does that stop me from adding on an egg for an extra $1.90? Nooooo....). As the beehoon is fried only when you order, it always arrives hot. Best to share this if you plan on having some kaya toast too.
