One of the best wanton mees around - pork has a nice char, noodles are springy and wantons are packed!
Despite the stall's name and the photo, there were wantons. The stars however weren't them. The char siew, although looking dry and forgettable, was yummy. The noodles with pretty much only the char siew sauce as seasoning were unique (and sweet).
One of the must try food at East Coast Lagoon Food Centre is definitely the wanton mee from Hwa Kee.
The noodles were so springy with an old school taste, while the wantons were also nice; but the star of the dish was definitely the deliciously sweet & addictive char siew slices which just screamed βDevour Me!!!β.
[East Coast Lagoon Food Village] Continuing on my hawkerhopping initiative with some Hwa Kee Barbeque Pork Noodles ($6 portion). First time trying it and the star of the dish definitely has to be the char siew which they prepared in the stall. Sweet, slightly charred and super addictive. Why have you only appeared in my life after so long?
the char siew was good, but the wonton and noodles were way off. I still miss the one at @chunboonboon hse.
tempting you maybe ? ππ it's only my second meal of yesterday.
Down and dirty char siew rice for the win!
