The chicken was quite tender. It is flavourful but a bit sweet. A pity they don't sell hor fun. There is only rice and noodles option. The noodles are quite springy.

Really love the silkiness of the noodles and the tender chicken meat. I finished two plates on my own to my own surprise โบ๏ธ
Less than $10 for a one star Michelin Star meal? Iโm so glad they opened an outlet at Toa Payoh (and its air-conditioned!). Iโve tried **almost** all their items, Soya Sayce Chicken, Char Siew and Pork Belly.
The noodle is nice and chewy, the chicken was tender and not dry at all. I also enjoyed the Char Siew, itโs well bbq-ed that wasnโt too fatty. I think itโs a good meal to have on a casual weekday night.
The soya chicken noodles at Hawker Chan truly blew me away. I usually shun soya sauce chicken with noodles because it's either the chicken isn't properly cooked or the meat is filled with bones or the noodles aren't springy enough.
This one at Hawker Chan surprised me because the noodles were crunchy and it doesn't stick together. The sauce control was just right. The chicken meat was very tender and almost boneless. It's a very pleasant dining experience and changed my perspective of soya sauce chicken noodles.
I like that it's well marinated. Heard the rice isn't good so we got the noodles instead. But whether worth its Michelin star...? Welllll I'm not too sure about that. ๐ค
Think I need to pace myself with all the good food I'm going to eat in the coming weeks... Need to go gymming every day liao... ๐ #burpple #checkoutmyselfportrait #youseewhatididthere
This time round, I decided to try out their char siew and I'm glad they do quite a good rendition of it! Even the lean parts of the meat was tender and sufficiently juicy. They gave quite a generous serving of sauce too, which coated my noodles well and made them absolutely slurp worthy! Their sambal sauce doesn't seem to be spicy at all, and only served to make the dish even more sweet, so for those who are looking for more of a kick can help themselves to the free flow green chilli at the side instead.
Unfortunately, my mother's order of soya sauce chicken didn't fare as well as my choice of meat; some parts were terribly undercooked that it was still very red. The parts that were cooked though, was still as tender as we remembered. I really hope this is a one time thing, because the chicken that we had at their Chinatown outlet was beautifully cooked.
*serving time (compared to the Smith street's stall)seems to be shorter and there is a condiments counter here so huge pluses for that! ๐

Char Siew & Roasted Pork Noodle, Wanton Soup
The char siew taste better than their soya sauce chicken, but don't like the noodle's strong alkaline taste. I don't think I will be coming back, tried twice is enough.
They close quite early/ sells out early so guess it was our lucky day. Not sure if it was worth the hype at the time though I really enjoyed the tender, flavorful chicken (the bf felt otherwise - that it was dry so it might have been inconsistent or I got all the good parts); also tried the char siew which was delightfully caramelised with a good proportion of fattiness.
The chicken taste average and the noodles had very strong alkaline taste.
I really love the texture of the noodles and how soft the chicken is. I am also very happy that i do not have to queue in the sweltering heat at a hawker to taste this.
So much they even have an outlet in Taiwan too.
After trying at Tai Seng and TPY outlets, we shared similar mixed reviews about the quality of their food now. Perhaps an inevitable result of expansion? The soy chicken was still good and tasty, though we won't say the same for their char siew and roast meat. And we would recommend noodles over rice to go with it.
Overall, their expansion has no doubt offered better accessibility and comfort to a brand we can proudly call our own. Regardless, hope the many other hawkers that are just as good will also get their much deserved recognition.

Gave this a try in their air-conditioned Toa Payoh outlet. Chicken was tender and well seasoned eventhough i ordered the breast part [yes, even the thick-chunky part], portion was decent, chili was kicking good, and price-wise, they're not that different from typical hawker chicken rice! The best part is they have free chicken-rice-soya-sauce on their condiments stall!
Ps. Requesting any specific part of the chicken [thigh/breast] is subject to an additional 50cents charge.
Pps. They're also available in Jakarta, ๐ฎ๐ฉ.
