Hainanese Delicacy (Far East Plaza)

Having and allowing staff with such bad attitude to serve customers, it shows that they may not care whether this affects your dining experience. Even if the food is acceptable, it just ruins your day and there are so many other alternative choices available in the area!

Have eaten here a few times already, chicken not consistently nice and can be dry at times. Rather steep price for chicken rice tbh. But okay lah it’s still decent, will still eat here if I’m in the area. And of course lah it’s situated in town, still considered one of the more affordable eats here.

Thought it's considered affordable in Orchard, the service staff always display displeasure when we order 鸡尾饭 and say they have no more 鸡尾 when there are many chickens hanging on display. 🤷‍♀️ This has happened several times, not going back anymore. Chicken rice was also mediocre, nothing to wow about.

Salted Veg Duck Soup, $6. The perfect day to be drinking this with a plate of delicious nostalgic chicken rice to keep yourself warm and full! This salted veg duck soup is clear but it’s flavors is superb!! There’s big chunk of duck meat, lots of salted veg and tomatoes that brings out the burst flavors! We really enjoyed this so much that every visit to Hainanese Delicacy is just incomplete without Salted veg duck soup! You should give this a try on your next visit too, it’s very addictive and we always sips till the last drop! .

Chicken Rice Set, $4.80. The best chicken rice in town! Whenever we have chicken rice craving in Orchard Rd, Hainanese Delicacy comes straight to our mind! With an affordable price of $4.80, chicken portion is generous and chunky. It is also tender and juicy too! There’s a few precious chicken skin that’s doesn’t have any fats!! The sauce underneath the chicken isn’t too oily and salty, with a hint of flavors that goes so well with their fragrant soft rice that we adores! Don’t forget to add in ginger to their spicy chicken rice chilli sauce to pair with their chicken and rice! They also gives a small bowl of soup or you may order their signature Salted Vegetable Duck Soup that’s so shiok and addictive! .

This nostalgic spot in Far East Plaza has long been serving satisfying meals to kids, teenagers and adults looking for a satisying meal in town. Their Chicken Rice ($18 for half, $4.50 for one portion) comes with a less-oily, lightly seasoned but still tasty rice. Burppler HungryUnicorn SG also recommends having a bowl of pipping hot Salted Vegetable Duck Soup ($6). Due to the never-ending stream of customers at peak hours, you might have to wait for a table, and eat fast when you get one.
