Can't believe we went for Gurney Drive at Changi Airport the moment we came back from Penang ๐
We're glad that the food here is actually comparable with those famous ones we had in Penang! Now we know where to get our fix whenever we miss Penang food! ๐
Had a good dine-in experience with the husband. He was craving for Fish Head Curry so badly that we just gave this place a try. I must say this meal is a MUST EAT! Love how soft and sweet the flesh was, and the sweet and sour taste of the gravy makes you want to have more. Best to be eaten by 2 people. No joke ๐๐ผ
Why go for normal cendol when you can have durian cendol ($7.90)??? And you don't even have to make a trip to Malacca for it! This was a pretty authentic, icy bowl of cendol with a generous mound of almost-frozen DURIAN perched on top - happiness ensued. ๐
Was so excited to see this combination of two of my favourite desserts in this Cendol Tiramisu (launch price $7.90, usual price $8.90). Expected the cendol to be fused into the tiramisu but it tasted like a normal tiramisu with a lingering hint of gula melaka, and was served with coconut ice cream and light green cendol (a good sign!) on the side.
Joining the salted egg bandwagon is the premium crab meat and salted egg char kway teow ($14.95)! I felt like the presentation was a little awkward, with the crab meat and salted egg yolk (of a crumb-like consistency) sprinkled on top. The kway teow was pretty decent but was a little bland flavour-wise, which could've been accentuated with more salted egg yolk.
Thumbs up for the oysters which are big, plump, juicy and fresh. But I cannot say the same for the omelette which tastes rather forgettable and is lacking in wokhei.
