GreenView Cafe's Herbal Mee Hoon Kueh is a delightful culinary experience.
面粉粿
The dish boasts a robust and flavourful profile, thanks to its traditional Chinese herbal soup base.
Each bite of the handmade mee hoon kueh harmonizes perfectly with the rich, aromatic broth, making it a comforting and satisfying choice for any meal.
Highly recommended for those seeking authentic flavours in a well-executed dish.
‼️Finally tried the highly raved ban mian at Far East Plaza✨ surprised that there is no queue😮 but there are patrons already at 11am✨ went for their cheapest and classic dry mee hoon kueh with minced pork ($7.20), kinda surprised by the price point 🥲 i guess it’s orchard, saw reviews it used to be $5.50 though😭
…
back to taste wise, i do like the rich dark soya sauce and chewy mee hoon kueh but hm, i think i did have similar before. its good but maybe i got hyped up too much, for the price point and surrounding options, missed the mark abit to be a regular spot but if im craving ban mian nearby i will visit 😊
Finally, I tried the mee hoon kueh at Greenview Cafe at Far East Plaza. Instead of the traditional signature minced pork version, I had the Sliced Pork Mee Hoon Kueh. 👍🏻I like how the lean slices of pork were as thick and big as the irregular hand-torn mee hoon kueh. Doused in the savoury zhup and accompanied with braised mushroom and crispy ikan bilis, it was no surprise how easily I can clean the bowl within minutes.
At Greenview Cafe, be prepared to be spoilt for choices as they offer so many variations of mee hoon kueh, including mala! 🤗 If you love char kway teow, try the Wok Hei Mee Hoon Kueh. True to its name, it was full of wok hei!
The signature sides are must-tries - Fried Prawn Fritters and especially the moreish Fried Glutinous Rice Cake that was layered with sweet potato, orh nee and nian gao. 😋 I can see myself tabao-ing dozen of these and air frying them at home.
Dry Minced Pork Mee Hoon Kueh ($5.50) ($1 - fried egg)
I really wanted to try their dry version for mee hoon kueh. But the issue is dry version got spicy but I don't like spicy so I opt out to choose spicy. They got put sweet sauce inside the mee hoon kueh but I don't like that it's too sweet for me. But the mee hoon kuek got that chewy texture and can mixed well with sweet sauce. But the fried egg is not really burst out from the egg yolk :"( and really come back for other flavour such as herbal soup and etc.
Tried for the first time after seeing all kinds of rave reviews about the place. Found this item to be decent, but not great. Nevertheless, will still be back to try other options on the menu if and when I am in the area.
Soup Mee Hoon Kueh w Fish
