This was from a French grill stall at Alibabar the Hawker Bar. The ribs were done quite nicely - tender and meaty, and very flavourful. I liked the BBQ sauce, which wasn't too sweet. This came with 2 sides of mac & cheese and corn and peas succotash.
Back here at Alibabar for Garcons again, but this time in the blazing hot afternoon. Known for their authenticity, their escargots weren't as I expected. It lacked the punch of flavour, and the substantial bite of the escargots were absent. Their sauce was slightly on the dry side too.
Herb crusted salmon ($16.20)
Great flavours and fresh salmon that was cooked perfectly - slightly flaky with a firm, yet moist texture. Love the mash potatoes here too, really really smooth! If you can get over the fact that you're somewhat paying $16 for hawker food (no air-con and all), it's definitely worth the try.
Does it warrant a return trip? Probably not. The non-air conditioned atmosphere and dated decor is rather off-putting really.
