A name which is synonymous to brunch & great pastry in the district of TTDI which is a popular spot among the locals living around here.. Heard great things about this place and especially for their waffle! So we decided to go and have a try for their waffles to see what's their magic touch in making them one of the places to go for waffles! This cafe is actually quite easy to spot as it's the same row as the famous dessert place; Foo Foo and Corks Out! The ambience itself is very relaxing and it's also a great place to work as there's free wifi and comfy pillows to hug with.. The menu here is quite comprehensive and detailed.. After much studying, we ordered their American waffle (RM18) to try which is actually a two halves of the waffle being layered upon each other with caramelized bananas, chantilly cream, toasted almond chips, chocolate sauce and 2 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream.. At first glance it may look sumptuous but it's great to share or if you're hungry, You can finish it alone.. So the waffle in terms of texture is really delicious as it's crunchy on the correct parts and soft and fluffy on the inside! As it's the blank canvas for tho other accompaniments; it just works so incredibly well with the salty burnt caramelized bananas and the crunchy almonds alongside the vanilla creamy goodness.. All the elements on the plate just brings out the harmony on your palate in every mouthful!
This week, we decided to wander into TTDI. This place has the best play list ever! Like ever. There aren't many spinach white based pasta, but this place serves it for RM28 and it was a decent portion as well. I wished that the sauce surrounding this delish lasagna was a thick layer of bechamel sauce insteadπ. Nevertheless, i was happy with this dish as it wasn't too jelak and i swallowed all of it!π. Service there is impeccable and the waiters were very thoughtful as well! 8/10 for this place and i will be back!!
Decked out in rustic walls and stylish furniture, bakery-cafe Frisky Goat makes a great laidback bet for a dinner date. Get the waiter-recommended Loaded Omelette (RM18.90) for a cheesy, fluffy egg dish that's sure to please, or go for the scrumptious Waffle Sandwich (RM22) β crispy waffles packed with fried chicken, bacon and fried egg, all drizzled with sweet maple syrup. Wash it all down with a drink from their varied bottle beer selection (from RM14).
Avg Price: RM35
The place was fully packed with diners with some still on the list waiting for empty seats. Frisky Goat is a typical hipster designed cafe, decorated with everything that looks nice then mashed into one place without any clear direction.
I was recommended the Loaded Omelette (RM18.90 exclusive of GST and service charge), so I did had one. It is a huge omelette, half the size of the plate, with diced tomatoes, onions, mushroom, generous amount of mozzarella and parmesan cheese and my choice of beef bacon.
The omelette was indeed buttery and fluffy even though I still feel some air pockets inside the omelette. But nevermind, because I like the mushroom aftertaste in every bite that I had. I can strongly tasted the parmesan cheese and the gooey mozzarella cheese when I cut out my omelette onto my buttered toast! The salad was okay, but a light vinaigrette would make it even nicer!
This omelette is truly loaded with butter, cheese, and happiness!
