nth time coming here but i love fish & co’s student meal so much!

we both got the danish fish & chips with mozzarella in the fish fillet for $13.90 as part of their student meal menu. there are various mains available, at different price points starting from $10.90, with $13.90 being the most expensive on the list.

for less than $15, i think such a filling and SATISFYING meal was absolutely worth it :-)

best part is that fish & co’s student meal promo is available on weekends and PHs too!!!!!

i sound like i got sponsored lol but fr i love fish
n co’s fish n chips. pls try.

fish wasn’t as fresh as i had remembered the last time i ate it but it it still super crisp and fried to perfection. portion is big and student promo comes with free flow drinks too!

Fish here is always crispy and fried to perfection. Chips are always very good too!

I have been a loyal patron of Fish & Co. for years, and have always ordered their Seafood Platter for 2. Unfortunately, it seems that this is the year that the quality suffers the biggest drop. The paella rice was not as fragrant, the mussels were small and hardly fleshy (probably frozen), the grilled fish lacked flaky bite and the fries were not as crisp nor salty. The only thing that remained delicious were the butterflied prawns.

This came with a salad buffet during lunch!

I ordered a side of truffle fries with the fish and it was the better of the two. The fries were crisp and the truffle oil was enough to make it stand out from normal fries, though I wouldn't exactly say that the truffle aroma was very strong. Unfortunately, they used white fish which is a bit dry for my liking. Thus, despite the batter being tasty, I was not too impressed with the fish. I'm not sure why they have not switched to using exclusively cod or haddock for fish & chips - it may be a bit more expensive but well-worth it in my opinion!

On my plate is tuna salad, mesclun, roasted eggplant, tomatoes and hummus. I liked the tuna salad and roasted eggplant the best. The hummus was by far the most disappointing, as I could detect the graininess of unblended chickpeas.

Other options included a penne salad, antipasti, tortilla chips and salsa, and a watermelon passionfruit mojito-like mix. I don't think it is very good value for $12.95 (++) to be honest. :/

I felt the white fish was rather dry, and the cheese-ebiko mix was an attempt to cover this dryness with flavour. It worked to some extent, but in the end the dry flakiness of the fish stood out most. Some people may like this texture of fish, though, but it is just not me. Other than the fish, I found the sweet potato fries and paella rice very satisfactory. I only wish they came with a sauce of some kind to balance out the heatiness.

A staple disu every time we eat at Fish & Co. because of the sheer variety of seafood we can enjoy. However, they have recently changed the calamari rings to octopus heads (?!) and I did not think it was an improvement. The octopus heads are also tossed in lemon butter sauce, but I felt they were too briny and lacked the chewiness of the calamari rings.

The white fish was unfortunately tough and did not have much taste other than the lemon butter sauce it was doused with. The grilled salmon fared much better in terms of a softer, juicier texture.

fish was very fresh and cooked beautifully β€” soft on the inside with crispy edges. it was wonderfully flavoured with pesto and parmesan cheese without being too heavy for the palate. a lovely alternative if you’re sick of the usual fish and chips.

sides were decent, if not underwhelming β€” sweet potato fries were slightly too skinny and soft for my liking and the grilled tomatoes were what you would expect.

$10 (student meal with drink) | 8/10 for the fish✨

The Mussels with GLBS (S$12.90) is my recommended starters for sharing, especially when it comes to wanting something saucy. Other than being served with four slices of β€œwarm” bread, the pan is filled with blue mussels, and so I think that the portion is pretty generous.

The sauce, though creamy, tends to be on the salty side. However, it can also serve as a secondary dip for other items, such as fries, calamari or grilled prawns. For the best zing, try squeezing a wedge of lemon into the sauce and stir well before consumption.

Satisfied my cravings for fish and chips πŸ˜‹ but as usual I can't finish my portion hahaha. I have always tried Swiss or Danish but I don't eat New York often and I think New York is good πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜Œ
