ENG's Wantan Noodle (Bukit Panjang Plaza)

Delectable and comforting bowl of handmade egg noodles. The mee kia came moist, well-oiled and intoxicatingly fragrant with the usual trio of plump little wantons. The emaciated char siew was frankly quite disgraceful but with noodles like that, who's complaining? Savoury and sinfully satisfying especially with the fiery spicy chilli!

Ordered the small version. To be honest, I was really excited to try this out when it opened near my house but I was really disappointed by it. I do like the thicker springy noodles that they used but the pathetic broken pieces of char siew and overly salty boiled wantan were really disappointing. My family bought the dried noodles and changed the boiled wantans to deep fried ones but they were soggy and chewy, not even crispy at all. I tasted the Chili sauce but it was okay only bahh...not outstanding in my opinion.

We also purchased some mixed ngor hiang with it that I don’t even bother taking photo. Not only was it exceptionally expensive, the order took super long and only arrived after we finished our noodles. They were also dripping with oil. One word to describe the overall experience is disappointing. Don’t think I will be back anytime soon.

Although the noodles was thicker than usual and simply flavoured, it was quite flavourful.
Help yourself to various condiments such as sliced green Chilli, mayonnaise, deep fried crispy lards and it’s famous Chilli sauce.
