The only good thing is that it's served in a claypot so it's hot! They were slightly too generous on the black sauce. There wasn't any specialty about this (smth like salted fish kinda thing - they could have used crushed anchovies or other cheaper substitutes). The chicken cubes had a skin to meat ratio of 2:1 ); but the belachan saved its ass a lil ๐
The consistency of the curry was in between Chinese curry and Japanese curry, but a tad on the sour side, not spicy at all. Overall it was rather disappointing cos there wasn't any good points in the entire plate. );
Some says the best Hokkien fried prawn noodle will taste good when fried with lard. I have to admit I was wrong when I chance upon this noodle stall in compass one - Encik Tan.
Probably one of the best halal style fried with wok fragrance and heavy aromatic prawn stock that makes the prawn noodle just taste as good as those star review stall out there.
Basically this version is the wet type which is to my liking and condiments are basically eggs, prawns and squid.
You have a choice of $5 or $8 and the Chef basically fried it in a small wok which families used at home instead of the usual large metal wok in large flame.
I was skeptic initially since there is no usual presence of the above mentioned but upon trying ; I was totally hooked as splendid combination of noodle n bee hoon just soak up the thick prawn stock nicely.
Do come by and try and they are situated at 2nd floor sharing the same floor as most restaurant like AOne and Xin Wang restaurant.
Definitely my TOP 5 underdog prawn noodle to recommend.
one of my always-go-to food at Encik Tan! very flavourful, and the chicken is always so tender. if you're one who loves ้ ๅทด, i guess you'll love this too! takeaway version always seems yummier to me though~ be careful of the chilli, IT'S HOT.
Had this yummy Claypot Chicken Rice (็ ้
้ฅญ) ; $5.50 which cook upon order from one of Encik Tan outlet at Compass One earlier this afternoon. Overall the rice is cooked at the right texture with crisp burnt at the base and chicken is tender but perhaps a little easy on the dark sauce and some blanch veggie to go with it will be perfect
.
This Halal-certified food eatery has variety of choices such as fishball & wanton noodles, western food, fried carrot cake, Hokkien mee and etc
.
Price wise quite reasonable and quality of the food is also good. Will definitely be back to try their curry rice and others. #cuisineparadiseeatout #sgfood #burpple #asianfood #whatieat
