1 thing that East coast Lagoon does not lack, is its Satay stalls.

Along a stretch of Muslim stalls, u will easily walk pass over 5 stalls trying to psycho passer-bys to come buy satays from their stall.

My satays came from a a store named "Sixty Satay" . Satay not bad leh, cooked till the edges slightly charred, and the meat was fresh also man.

Each Satay @90cents and minimum order of 10.

Every wing is charcoal bbq to a golden brown sheen and paper crisp skin on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The crispy skin has some mildly sweet flavours with a fragrant charcoal flavour that infuses well into the meat. This has got to be one of the better bbq wings I had 》$1.30 Each

Gooey soft chunks of tapioca starch and egg fried till crispy on the edges before adding in raw oysters for a quick fry. The ratio of egg and starch hits the right spot with the perfect balance of gooey-ness accompanied by fresh, huge and juicy oysters. The tangy chilli sauce served goes so well with the oyster omelette 》$7

Oops smelled so good that I wolfed it down before remembering to take a pic. We ordered the $5 version and it was yummy!! Their hokkien is the wet type and the stock is flavourful and sweet.

I can't believe this is a no pork no lard place!

Hokkien mee (S) @ $6
#32 Geylang 29 Charcoal Fried Hokkien Mee

One of the best hokkien mee. It's wet the way I like it and comes with good amount of prawns and sotong and lard, which is really damn yummy. But the best is the burnt taste and smell that is subtly infused in the whole plate - guess they really use charcoal to make this and the burnt taste and smell makes this dish so damn good.

Would like to try the other outlet at Geylang to see if it's consistent. But definitely happy to have this dish even though we were damn full from the other food we had (satay bee hoon, satay and oyster omelette) and this is still the best among all.

My favourite duck rice at East Coast lagoon! Have been eating this since I was a kid! Super love the braised sauce and tender duck meat. Goes well with both the braised rice or porridge!

While the queue may seem short, the wait is always super long. But you can call ahead for takeaway orders!
