Prawn & 'Hae Bi Hiam' Pasta

Hae Bi Hiam with an Italian twist
.
Linguine tossed with housemade spicy shrimp paste and sautéed prawns
.

Dense, concentrated pang of cinchalok, loadsa heibi 🦐 & garlicky hints. Totally not my kinda of dish but objectively speaking, a successful fusion between the western pasta and Asian prawn-y dish. Prawns were succulent tho lacking in the ‘fresh seafoody’ hint. Given the price - $18/bowl, I wouldn’t expect anything less than fresh prawns!

Treat your loved ones to great Asian-fusion grub in Marina Square. Spice-heads will adore their Prawn and Hae Bi Hiam Pasta ($19) as well as the Crispy Fish 'Otah' Burger ($18) — made extra tasty with sambal mayo!

Yet another well executed fusion dish from Redpan, this pasta had that spicy kick similar to the actual hae bi hiam, and the prawns and pretty fresh too. No wonder this is one of their signature dishes!

Hae bi! 🦐 해해해 🦐 Ok ok, it's not very funny I know. But read my article about @redpansg anyway, I promise there are no lame jokes in it! Just pictures of #food and what I think about them. 😛 This was the rather #tasty Prawn Paste "hae bi" #linguine... I'm feeling #hungry now... 🤤

Appreciate the attempt to be innovative, but sadly this wasn’t a good representation of Bak Chor 😢😢 Good serving of ingredients with effort - grilled pork belly slices, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes! Essentially a dry Ban Mian wannabe but didn’t quite succeed, try their prawn & hae bi hiam pasta instead! 😋😋

With Chope’s current 1-for-1 mains promotion, this dish was definitely worth it! Loved how the tagliatelle was well coated in the hae bi hiam paste (which was actually pretty good with bits of hae bi)! Though would have preferred more ingredients other than 3 fresh prawns, but definitely a successful innovative dish that’s both uniquely local and very yummy 😋😋

The hae bi hiam aroma at play enticed with the diligent industry of a CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School perfectionist, while elsewhere the prawns were probably exhausted after an entire day of sweaty and smelly track and field practice. 3.3/5

Hidden in one corner of Marina Square yet their fusion foods still attract people visiting their restaurant. I’m impressed at how their put Singapore favourite taste into their western menu like this one.

The hae bi hian pasts taste great with the pasta. The prawn was soft and fresh.

Call me a sucker for local inspired pastas, but I still fondly remember having redpan’s hae bi hiam pasta more than a year back. I’m happy to report that it’s still as good as before! A nice hit of spice and definitely packed with hae bi, it’s everything you’d expect from it. 🍝
