. I counted 2 prawns, 4 la-las and couple of thick slabs of fish. Soup is tasty and yet not gelak, allowing you to freely slurp down the big bowl of soup. I'm quite sure I'd be back again! It's $10 for the crayfish seafood soup and $28 for the lobster. #burpple
Unlike Woon Woon Pek Beehoon at Changi Village (run by the son) that uses white bee hoon in their famous seafood bee hoon, this outlet (run by the father) offers a thicker handmade noodle much like the lor mee from Putien, or rice as your carb. Go for the Crayfish Seafood Soup ($10 for one pax, $28 for three pax) and opt for the handmade noodles ($0.50). In an individual portion, expect a whole crayfish, plump slices of fresh Taman fish, prawns and clams in a flower crab and clam soup broth that has been simmered for over six hours. The ingredients and soup broth are cooked in a wok for that signature wok hei taste, and the soup broth is naturally sweetened by the addition of cabbage. For the full works, order the Signature Seafood Platter ($28) that comes with two crayfish, prawns, scallops, clams and fish and share it amongst a group of three or more!

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, which meant gravitating towards all things soup! Saw this newly opened stall in Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre and I decided to go for the Crayfish Seafood Soup ($10 for individual, $28 for three pax). I was sharing this so I added on extra clams ($2 for 12 or 13 shells, but who's counting right?) and a scallop just because.
The dish did not come with any complimentary carbs, and while i'm mostly a rice ($0.50) kinda girl, i decided to listen to the uncle's recommendation and went for the handmade noodles ($0.50). First bite and i was hooked! Omg found a new place that serves the Putien style lor mee, at a fraction of the price! #Huatah The noodles were soft, absorbed the flavourful broth almost immediately and so so good to eat on a rainy day. 😋
Speaking of the broth, it's simmered for over six hours daily and made with lots of clams and flower crabs. Upon ordering, the uncle (who turns out to be the father of the owner running the famous Changi Village Woon Woon Pek Beehoon) throws in your ingredients, noodles and soup broth into a wok. The glorious mess is then cooked in the wok for their signature wok hei taste before serving.
I really liked how fresh the ingredients tasted (the Taman fish was plump and there were so many slices! I lost count), the naturally sweet and flavourful soup stock and the noodles! #Burpproved

But if you were more on light and sweet type one, then you would prefer the scallop Seafood Soup which I felt was filled with the sweetness of seafood.

Saw some other couples who've ordered this to share, swear the bowl is so huge it could feed the whole village (exaggerating). But I mean, I guess big eaters like some of us can have it all to ourselves too? Oh btw, I freaking love the sliced fish, so big I could call it a slab.

Was craving for something soupy and like fate, spotted this less than a week old stall in BTFC! I went for the most basic bowl which came with thick yet tender fish slices, 2 prawns, several clams and a seafood ball. The generous serving of fresh seafood was definitely impressive, but I was really hoping for a more flavourful and stronger seafood tasting soup to match up. The broth was a little too flat for my liking even though the side chilli sauce was quite shiok.
This bowl is also available at $16 for a 3 pax serving and you can top up 50 cents for a bowl of rice or handmade noodles to go along. There are also 4 other items on the menu, Crayfish Seafood Soup ($10/$28), Scallop Seafood Soup ($10/$28), Lobster Seafood Soup ($28/$58) and Signature Seafood Platter ($28, serves 3 pax).
