The first thing that caught my eye was how fresh and chunky the sashimi which I picked out was; I selected the medium bowl which enabled me to select 4 different sashimi ( salmon, tuna, scallop and swordfish). I enjoyed the meal a lot and the grates wasabi made it even better. The only complaint is probably the rice which I thought was too sticky and wet. Otherwise, I couldn't have asked for a better lunch choice!
One of the most value-for-money kaisen dons - most people get the medium sized one ($15.80 for four types of fish + add-on $3.80 for a premium topping) and so did I! Got salmon, swordfish, baby scallops, yellowtail and added mentaiko 💕 for a truly satisfying and quick meal.
Yup, I got tempted by all the photos on social media, the too-good-to-be-real reviews. Imma try it ma-self. $15.80 for the Medium bowl with 4 choices, topped with salmon roes. Thick cubes of sashimi, fresh, generous portions just suitable for a lunch meal.
I got the salmon, tuna, yellow tail and whelk. Best combi, everything every bite is just so yum yums.
I didn't ordered any premium items ($3.80 each) because I thought this already tasted like premium.
Alright it isn't THAT cheap but it is quite cheap, $15 ++ for a medium sized DIY Chirashi don (choice of 4 types of fish) with an additional $3.80 for salmon roe is quite the steal :-) really a fulfilling meal because the bowl was filled to the brim with freshness !!!! Top quality generous portions means I will definitely come back for more 😋😋😋😋
Chose the medium bowl [$15.80] with selection up to 4 fishes. I got the salmon, swordfish, tuna and whelk. Added on the tamago for $3.80! Didn't think the premium add on was quite worth the money but really enjoyed the super generous portions of whelk!! Which you don't get much of if you get the normal kaisendon.

Sold in 3 different sizes, we ordered the smallest size ($8.80) with an additional topping ($3.80), thinking it's be their usual portion, but little did we know that it came as a sample size kind of bowl, which made it a tad bit unsatisfactory for me. Should have just gotten the Medium sized one 😔 That aside, the quality is still as good & it the different sizes does give you an option to decide how much you'd rather eat!
There are quite a few Teppei Syukudo outlets around, but only the ION outlet offers the flexible customizability of salad and rice and various sizes with a variety of options from fish, toppings and condiments. Originally at $15.80, the medium size comes with four different types of fish (went with salmon, tuna, baby scallops and yellow tail) while we added Mentaiko seasoning at $0.80. Quite a generous bowl with quality cuts of marinated fish which was pretty savoury with a umami touch by the seasoning. Each bowl comes with special sauce, ikura, wasabi, goma etc; a pretty good option to spoil yourself with if you are around Orchard.
Chose the DIY Special Kaisen Don and opted for medium size ($15.80), which comes with 4 choices of fish. I opted for a salad bed and sesame sauce (there's also sweet onion sauce), two portions of salmon, tuna and octopus, and salmon roe (additional $3.80). Totally worth the premium add-ons, makes the bowl so much more tasty!
