Omakase Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger

$17.90 Β· 30 Reviews

Had their Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger some time back and writing this as I’m craving for it now 🀀 i didn’t have high expectations but damn it was pretty solid. The portion was alright for the price at $18.80 if I remember correctly (still think burgers are too expensive nowadays!) but the flavour, especially the applewood really shined through the smoked bacon. Even the patty was done well (medium-rare) although the juices were literally dripping at each bite. Messy but satisfying. The potato bun was fluffy and a delight to bite into. The sauce .. its a secret sauce but it was really good and went well with the burger πŸ‘Œ

We did a side by side comparison with the Impossible burger and I honestly couldn't tell the difference. For the (real) beef burger, we ordered cheesy fries and ginger ale which is one premium side and normal drink ($22.90+). I was glad that they were generous with the bacon in the burger but the impossible burger overshadowed the beef burger. Totally mindblown by the Impossible beef patty but definitely this beef burger was a good burger which I will come back for more next time I'm around the area!

Was looking forward to sink my teeth into the much raved cheeseburgers via word of mouth, but the first mouthful was very disappointing or maybe my expectations were too high. Beef patty lacked of flavors, the whole burger tasted dry & the leftover oil forming in the paper sleeve is not sightly. ($17.90) Personal rating: 2.5/5

Being named by 8 days as "possibly the best burger in Singapore", I finally decided to drag myself to try Omakaseburger.Omakaseburger are famous for their American style "smashed burgers" and their soft buns (which 2 years of hard work was put in)

I ordered Omakase Uncured Applewood Smoked Bacon Burger, which was considered the premium burger and their Omakasecheese burger. Honestly, both of the bun are great, fresh and soft. However, that was the only good thing about the burgers. The meat was both blind and dry. There was totally nothing special about the burger that deserved to be named the best.

As for the sides, it was just "ok" not wow about it. I paid a premium burger price, but I was not given the quality that I paid for. There was not much crowd, when I visited the store, maybe I should visit the one at the Grandstand.

The beef patty was juicy and didn't have an overpowering beefy flavor. Bacon was crispy but I couldn't differentiate how special it was from typical bacons. The bun was a tad too soft and it quickly became soggy from the beef patty juice. Truffle fries were ok. I have not found one that's more "truffley" and crispier than Coastal Settlement's.
