Can't believe it took so long for me to finally pay an impromptu visit to this well-known, viral cafe. And of course, to try the dish that started it all.

The Rubber Ducky ($12.90) is a sorbet ducky sitting in a pool of mango puree and sago pearls and 'bathing' in lemongrass foam. It was like a fancy ice kachang in a good way, with the frosty sorbet, smooth mango puree and chewy pearls forming a nostalgic cacophony of flavors and textures in my tongue.

And come on, isn't it just totally adorable? My dining partner and I spent a good amount of time jiggling it and just admiring the cute ducky. Desserts are supposed to be whimsical and an edible piece of art, and this little guy fitted the bill.

This refreshing and super cheerful dessert is really worth the try!

Non-Entrée's signature Rubber Ducky is an absolute delight to look at as it is to eat. A very convincing "toy duck" replete with bubble bath foam is actually a mango sorbet that tastes not unexpectedly of Mama Lemon on first impressions, but mellows to mango's familiar tangy and fruity sweetness with each subsequent bite. One is reminded of the traditional Chinese dessert of mango sago, especially when eaten together with the mango puree, sago pearls and creme fraiche pudding in place of coconut cream at the bottom of the cup. Very refreshing, particularly with the fragrance of the lemongrass bubbles lending a pleasant floral note.

While it's no longer available at Marina Square's dessert pop-up, Cake Club, you'll still be able to get your hands on it at Non-Entrée Dessert's outlet at Farrer Park. Taking over the guest shift next month will be Lickety Ice Cream and Waffles' very colourful egglet waffle and ice cream creations. Sweet tooths, swing by on weekends to Cake Club for this and more, including scrumptious cakes from Boufé Boutique Café, Creme Maison and Edith Patisserie. Birds Of Paradise fans can also get their hands on their very popular gelato without having to travel all the way to Katong!

Venue: Marina Square, The Roof Garden Glasshouse, Unit 03-03
Dates: Weekends till 26 August
Time: 12pm - 8pm

The rubber ducky ($11.90) looks really cute and tastes good too. It’s made from mango sorbet and it sits on top of a lemongrass cloud. This was a really refreshing dessert to have on a hot day!

Coming here after a long time and the desserts are just amazing - all good quality ingredients. Love it. We had the rubber ducky, lava cake and waffle and all 3 were great!

Non entree is not your typical desert shop. It serves playful desert like nasi lemak desert, rubber ducky desert and more. The chocolate avalanche is one of the more normal ones.

Unfortunately I felt that the deserts were more gimmicky than anything else. They were not particularly tasty and they were all quite expensive! Clearly they are targeting those seeking an ‘experience’ rather than those looking for ‘real desert’.

Would only visit this place if I’m looking for some fun or a place to bring a date to.

- with Creme fraiche pudding, fresh mango puree, sago pearls, and an exotic ducky sorbet sitting atop a lemongrass crowd. Refreshing! #burpple
