Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豊 (BreadTalk IHQ)

Having tried a similar one from Swee Heng's bakery, I must admit that this fared better with a thicker and more prominent surface layer of caramelised cheese atop a soft, fluffy honey sponge cake. The crusty cheesy surface layer what was got me hooked on, with a pleasant lingering smoky and savoury saltiness of cheese coupled with a subtle tinge of caramelised sweetness. If only the layer could have been thicker with an 80% cheese and 20% honey sponge instead of the other way round! The honey sponge was soft, fluffy and spongy that was sufficiently moist. A pretty huge cake that can be shared for tea time or one for yourself if you are consuming it as a meal! .

Really love how they do the bean sauce & how the different ingredients all come together in a tasty dish. Might not be filling enough though, esp for bigger eaters ⭐️ 4/5 ⭐️
