Finally got a chance to visit on a Saturday afternoon. A quiet location for you to get your work done or you just wanna find a place to chill. The coffee is fine - a bit too acidic for me though. They dont serve food after 3pm so pick the american cheese cake from the fridge which satisfy my craving.

This combination of salad is the best for me. For $7.90 you can choose 3 items + 1 base. My choice was brown rice (base), chunky tuna, smoked salmon and teriyaki beef. I topped up $4.50 for an iced mocha. In total my lunch bill was $12.40 and it was the best value for money. No GST and service charge.

However the service for ordering coffee quite slow as there was only 2 persons at the counter doing the cashier & serving coffee. I suggest they should hire extra hand for brewing the coffee, otherwise customers might need to wait 15 mins just to grab a coffee on the go.

The interiors quite cozy and modern, and it’s always packed during lunch time. Not suprised as this is the only nice cafe around Ubi/Kaki Bukit area. Quite a lot of ang moh patronize this cafe, to get a coffee, sandwich or salad.

Best option to grab lunchie here of you’re on diet mode, since they serving healthy and light food.

What we ordered:-
Avocado toast ($6.90), smoke salmon croissant-wich ($9.90, shroom truffle toast with onsen egg($12.90). [couldnt rmb the toast on the top right corner, but it was good]
I love the shroom truffle toast!
Not a coffee person but my colleagues who tried it, said it was really good.
They even have salad! Gotta try that next! 👍🏻2.5/5

Brioche slices, purple greens, smoked salmon, poached eggs and a blanket of thick Hollandaise — a combination characteristic to an Eggs Benedict.

Compound Coffee Co. puts their spin on it by having Onsen eggs (aka soft-cooked eggs) instead. I would be lying to myself if I were to rave about this because I do have my opinions on some of its parts, namely the texture and the taste.

Unfortunately, I feel that it lacked any savoury component in terms of flavour. It was, in fact, a little sweet…perhaps a little too sweet to properly enjoy it after some bites. Maybe some spiciness would mitigate it? In addition, it was mostly soft – that includes the toasted brioche, the smoked salmon, and the eggs. I did feel jelak after tackling half of the plate.

It may sound sad, but I do have hope for improvement. They can definitely pull off this classic favourite if they incorporate some amount of contrast in the textures! 🍞🍳 (6/10)

It's not exactly a well-known fact, but Compound Coffee Co. adds three brunch items to the menu only on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

Pictured here is their Old School, which is a big breakfast set that comprises of double scrambled eggs, sliced avocados, seared cherry tomatoes and some sauteéd mushrooms. The avocados weren't available, so I asked for another portion of the mushrooms. 😛

Pretty decent! Scrambled eggs were creamy and well-seasoned, the mushrooms were chunky and had a mild, but nice bitter flavour. The sauce that dons the cherry tomatoes surprised me too - very reminiscent of Japanese brown sauce.

The Old School is a breakfast fare that won't blow your mind by any means, but it's something still welcomed on a slow Saturday morning. 🙂 (7.5/10)

A quiet hideaway from the hustle bustle of work, Compound Coffee Co. serves up some unique coffee brews to pair with assorted pastries.

I got their Lemon Butter Teacake, essentially a slice of butter cake glazed with lemon frosting and garnished with lemon zest. A tease of tanginess is the most you can expect to taste, but its mild flavour is what makes it addictive.

They serve up three additional brunch items only on Saturdays as well, so expect a part two to this post! 😋 (7/10)
