Chilli King Wanton Mee

The unique things about this stall is the fact that there are 5 level of spiciness. I chose level 3 since I love spicy food. The wanton mee cost $3.50 a bowl.

The noodles were okay. Not springy but also didn't have any alkaline taste. They were quite well seasoned with just the right amount of spiciness. The amount of noodle was just nice. Char siew and vegetables were normal. Wantons were not bad. The fillings are quite well seasoned and the wanton mee comes with 2 fried and 2 soup dumplings. The soup was also quite good. Good flavour.

Overall the only thing that attracted me was the fact that you can choose your spiciness and also the wantons are actually not bad.

This stall’s claim to fame is it’s 5 levels of spiciness. I went for the lowest level and it was already mildly spicy, so I can only imagine the burning depths of level 5 especially since it comes with chilli padi. Other than that this wanton mee didn’t have much else going for it. While the wantons were filled with well-seasoned clumps of pork, the noodles lacked any sesame oil and soy sauce (or any sauce for that matter), and the char siew was too thinly sliced and dry. The crispy lard tasted extremely stale and off-putting too.
