Conveniently located within Food Village at @takashimayasg , @chefwaipoachedrice is here to warm your tiring soul after a long day of shopping spree!
The prawn-based broth was sweet, savoury and strong on seafood flavours. For first timer, I’d recommend Emperor Mixed Seafood Pao Fan (S$10.90) which gives you the best of all worlds with prawns, prawn paste balls, scallops, and fried fish all in one. I love it when the prawns were not only fresh but came de-shelled too!
If you want to try something new, they serve poached noodles too! Smooth and silky, a good alternative to poached rice.
Heard so much about their Pao Fan and decided to drop by to try it. @chefwaipoachedrice first outlet is opened at JEM in Feb 2021 and they already have 3 outlets in Singapore now.

The broth has a well rounded flavor with just the right amount of umami. For first timer, I would recommend to try their Emperor Mixed Seafood Pao Fan ($10.90) as it features Scallops, Prawns, Fried Fish, Prawn Paste Ball, etc. Decent size Prawns and Chunky Fried Fish. I personally love their Springy Prawn Paste Ball! I will come back just for a bowl of of the Prawn Paste Ball! I also like the idea that the Crispy Rice and Egg Floss are served separately.
.
By chance to speak to the Chef Wai and got to know that he is actually the Ex-chef from Paradise Group. No wonder there is certain standards from choice of ingredients, broth and the thoughts of serving the crispy rice separately.

Location: JEM, Takashimaya B2, Causeway Point.
Second time eating poached rice and I ordered the Emperor Mixed Seafood Poached Rice ($10.90). The crispy rice was put separately to prevent sogginess if you want to enjoy your meal slowly and the seafood broth is good. I will come back again to try more.
