Part of the Japanese-inspired range of bread and pastries, this matcha red bean bun has been around since Bread Talk came up with a series of new buns and cakes in line with Japanās Sakura season last year. Unfortunately, only this bun has managed to stay on the shelves while the other creations like the Tuna Edamame croissant and the Yakitori bun have all ceased to exist. This is my second time having this matcha bun as I didnāt like it the first time I tried itā¦ bought it again to see if it would fare better than the previous time. Sadly, other than the decrease in the amount of flour dusted on the surface of the bun (yay to that; I really dislike the flour coating as I personally find it really messy and unnecessary haha), not much has differed ā the red beans studded within the buns are still really sparse and pathetic in quantity, the bread itself has only a v v slight hint of green tea taste/smell, and the entire bun was just too dense for my liking š
Iām sorry for being harsh butā¦ this was honestly one of the worst matcha buns Iāve ever tried š Never again.
Dirty bread trend has been going on for a while @breadtalksg. We had a messy bun (ultimate chocolate) $2.50 (100% cocoa powder coated) a while ago.
Today we tried one of the 2 newly launched flavours (green tea with cream) $2.20.
Too sweet to our liking and still prefer the ultimate chocolate to this flavour. š

Fun Fact: our puffer fish is 8 years old now which is quite old for his types but still young at heart! š Hope you enjoy his shot!
This has got to be my favourite bun from BreadTalk! It has walnuts encased within the bun, and its exterior is studded with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. It has this nutty texture which I really love! I'm also a sucker for how good it smells when it's fresh out from the oven hehehehehe
Very dense donut, not soft, though the frosting is decent. 3/5
Croissant isnt flaky, quite bready. Actually like thay somewhat cold chocolate taste 3/5
