Tried dim sum here twice and felt that there’s really nothing to shout about. An alternate spot to satisfy dim sum craving if paradise or crystal jade within the same mall is unavailable

This is the 咸水角 that’s shaped into a cute carrot.

Majority of the dim sum here is priced between $6-$7.50 for 3-4 pieces. All items were decent without any shoutout pieces.

Service was nice and friendly.

My favourite dim sum place in this mall was Teochew paradise which has been replaced by seafood paradise recently. The search for better dim sum venue continues.

Wow. It's like a superb soy sauce ckn but with added dimensions. Idk if it's just tea because it's so much more complex than normal. Ginger was nice too, sweet but still had some bite. The accompanying sauce was kinda reminiscent of ketchup, but A LOT better. Their signature for a reason, it's a must try!

4 pcs for 6++. The flavoured ones are 3 for 7++ lol idk why so much more ex

Anyway this was fantastic. As a shanghainese I gotta say this is pretty legit, it's sweet enough. So far one of the best xlb I've had that's not from a Shanghai stall. Full of soup too.
I would come back here and order a few of these haha

Idk why this Cantonese place has solid shanghainese and Peking dishes but I'm not complaining. Given the clientele(mean age around 40) I'm very certain their Cantonese stuff are on par as well.

So usually it's thrown away but while they're cutting you can request for it. It's a lot of fats and juices(v little meat) and that's why it's so good. Why not savour extra crispy skin? Don't throw these good stuff away haha

PSA idk how but Peking duck isn't enough to feed 3. Each of us got about 7-8crepes and one small bowl of noodles. Probably feeds 2 generously, but the good thing is their other dishes are good too so can just add on for 3 pax

Second cooking of the duck. First round u only get to eat the skin

Not gonna lie the meat is abit less than what I expected from literally an entire duck but wtv the taste was so good I soon forgot about it. This is nothing like the normal scrub ee-fu u get elsewhere, it's fragrant, full of umami(the sauce is completely different), and the noodles had an agreeable texture too. Worth a trip just to have an ee Fu that's not terrible(literally one of my least favourite foods lol)

Usually u got to do it yourself. When you bite into it the juices from the skin flow out. Damn. Kinda muted by the cucumbers and the sauce though, the sauce is v strong. It's crispy when you have the skin by itself

Requires advanced order

Very crispy skin, but kind of loses its crisp after being wrapped in crepe. The flavour was impressive nonetheless, and I'm glad they delivered for my first time having Peking duck properly

This menu item may not look exciting but the beef was tender and the wok hei - infused hor fun was delicious. The Chef that cooked it today deserves 9/10!

Was a little disappointed as it tasted like any other hor fun at any place.

The bee hoon was al dente and helped to balance out the savoury dish. The wok hei was evident with slightly charred bee hoon. The crab flesh was juicy, sweet, robust, substantial and exceedingly plump. This dish was definitely not too bad considering how hard it is to find a place that has wok hei. 8.0/10

All the meats were well seasoned and tender. The roasted pork was medium thick crackling and decent in texture while the char siew was lightly charred. 7.5/10

Buttery pastry, chilli crab sauce and a small bit of meat.

I like it, quite a nice twist to your usual mantou and chilli crab sauce!

Try the XO sauce carrot cake and custard bun, these are good. Skip the chee cheong fun, skin is too thick and not much taste.

You should never ever miss this liu sha bao! Over the years from Bosses Restaurant to now Black Society, the standard of their custard bun has been so consistent and impressive that I am still keeping it as my top favourite amongst all the custard buns I have ever tried locally.

Each bun is rather petite, and you could actually just pop the entire bun in (of course, not really recommended because the lava content is scalding!). But the bun skin is so fluffy soft, such that it might just burst even when you are holding it, so gotta be cautious there. The waitress told us to take a bite off the bottom and start sucking the flowing custard because that’s where the bun’s opening supposedly was. It was heavenly as I bit away a portion of the skin and the molten custard started oozing. There’s a layer of oil floating on top, but when you eat it, it’s not as oily as it seemed. In fact, it’s a little buttery, milky, and extremely flavorful. Love their impeccable consistency and I could have 3 to myself at one go!

The Chiilli Crab Sauce is suprisingly well balanced, neither too sweet nor spicy, pairing well with the crumbly tart base. The only flaw of this dish is the extremely tiny piece of crab claw that has barely any meat.
Do keep a lookout for other uncommon items such as yam lava bun, a change from our usual salted egg bun, as well as the Deep Fried Savory Dumpling(Ham Sui Gok) which is shaped like a carrot.

Just a regular thick soup. Not outstanding. Preferred the 花胶干贝鲨鱼骨汤 over this.

Good egg tarts but they are not the Super eggy type of tarts. The egg flavour is not very pronounced.

Not bad! Unique way of eating Chili crab. A bit spicy for me but what is Chili crab if it is not spicy. So still recommended to try!

Served hot and crispy. A great unique rendition of the normal rice rolls. Yumms

Overpriced fried rice with fried flour coated pathetically small grouper fish bites. Overly salty too. Will not return to black society. Ordered steam chicken with cordycep, also another overpriced dish and way too salty. Last dish was the steam tofu with ham and mushroom. All were definitely not worth the price. 2 pax meal cost us $81! Could have eaten much better stuff elsewhere. Wasted calories and time ( we waited 20min for our food to slowly arrive one by one) each interval at least 20 min. I wonder how they survived for so long.
