The noodles and seasoning were competent. Rich soup, but slightly too briny.
Other than the XL big prawn noodles, we also ordered a small bowl of pork rib prawn noodles in dry version that comes with 3pcs of pork ribs and 3 halved prawns. The chilli was fragrant, complemented well with the noodles and the pork ribs were tender. The accompanying bowl of soup is also thicker and richer than the one served in the soup version 》$5
The following items are also available for add-on - Pork ribs ($2), prawn ($2/pc), quick sand egg ($1), pig’s intestine ($2/$3), abalone ($3), pig’s skin ($1) and sliced pork ($1).
This prawn noodle stall is hidden in an industrial estate that is not very accessible but gets very crowded during peak hours. We decided to dive straight to the XL big prawn noodles since we have travelled so far for this.
The soup version of XL big prawn noodle includes 5 halves of extra big prawns served with beansprouts in a rich and robust broth, topped with fried shallots and pork lard. The prawns were fresh and succulent and while the broth was rich, I felt that it lacks the strong taste of prawns and leans more toward a pork broth 》$13.80
Finally made our way here and got the hype despite the inconvenient location - the prawn noodles were really good! Robust soup, rich in flavour. Ordered the normal and big prawns and the latter was pricey but I definitely liked the prawns better.
This was really good!! The dry version had a good prawny fragrance and they were really generous with the prawns, which were quite fresh. My dining partner preferred the soup version as she felt the dry version was abit sticky - I really liked the concentrated prawny mix tho!
• Big Prawn Noodles, Dry ($5)
I decided to try on the dry version and was given an additional big bowl of soup. The noodles is topped with crispy pork lard and fried shallots. I would recommend to request for more chili in the dry noodles as it really adds much more flavors.
• Pork Rib Prawn Noodles, Soup ($5)
The pork ribs is tender within expectation. The soup is very luscious. It spots a bright orange hue and the soup is full of umami.
