Salted egg polo buns are one of my all time favs so I was looking forward to trying this bun despite of it looking kinda low quality (because of the massive Baker Talent quality drop ๐Ÿ˜”). After heating in the oven, the polo top was given a bit of life again and became crispy.

However, the cookie was really thin and kinda lacked flavour. It wasn't very sweet and I could barely taste it when I ate it with the bread :(

The salted egg filling is like your standard neighbourhood bakery cheap salted egg filling, being more of sweet than salty and the salted egg flavour wasn't very pronounced at all. The filling was quite inadequate and once again, I couldn't really taste it when I ate it together with the bread, partly due to there not being enough filling and partly due to the muted flavour of the salted egg.

For around the same price, you could get a much higher quality salted egg polo at HK Flaky Lotus so this bun was a massive disappointment. Haiz I really miss the Baker Talent buns from 2-3 years ago because the bakery now is really a shell of what it used to be.

After my disappointing experience with Baker Talent's golden sands polo, I'm glad to say that this bun was definitely a lot better. A quick toast in the oven made the polo cookie crisp and yummy again, compared to when it was sold as a flat and sad bun.

The char siew filling is like those typical cheap, unnaturally red kinds but it was still really good with the bun. The amount of filling was also pretty substantial!

One of the better buns I've had at Baker Talent since the quality drop๐Ÿ‘Œ

I've seen a few other reviews of this bun in which the chocolate inside is just a sad, dry lump... MICROWAVE YOUR BUNS, PEOPLE!!! It's an absolute GAMECHANGER. Nobody deserves to eat sub-par bread when you can get bread with a flowing chocolate lava๐Ÿ”ฅ I microwaved this bun for around 20 seconds and when it cut it open, the melted chocolate filling just came flowing out naturally.

Even though there's not a lot of filling, it's pretty adequate with the rest of the bun, being quite rich and not too sweet. The bread is soft too.

Pretty good bun, nothing extraordinary but definitely one of the better chocolate buns I've had from neighbourhood bakeries. And again, reminder to HEAT YOUR BREADS because room temp bread / cold bread knocks off so many tasty points. (Also, I realise that I overpaid for this bun at the Bedok outlet because other outlets are selling it for $1 ๐Ÿ˜‘)

There was quite an adequate amount of sesame and peanut butter filling inside. The peanut butter was nice and creamy and had your classic peanut butter taste to it. I found that it overpowered the black sesame taste a bit because the black sesame filling didn't really have a strong flavour, but I was fine with it because I love peanut butter more than black sesame hehe. The bread was really soft and overall, this is such a good bun!

The other baker talent buns may be disappointing but this bun was absolutely incredible๐Ÿ‘Œ maybe there still are some redeeming buns in baker talent after all.

๐Ÿ’ต: $1.20

๐Ÿค”: Filling was the perfect tangy and sweet combination and bread was soft n chewy.

Oops! Canโ€™t wait to bite into this piece of childhood memory. Selling at $1 for a thick slice filled with thick slab of garlic butter.
