Filled with vanilla and matcha cream and topped with frest strawberry
.
The sour strawberry complimented the sweet vanilla cream and nutty matcha cream

Filled with matcha cream, fresh raspberry and topped with a Matcha Pocky Stick
.
When I bite into the croissant, I didn't expect the matcha cream to ooze out so much
.
Abit of a mess but so so good

Tried @bakeopedia.sg and @thebreadracksg new Matcha series and I was SOLD. Even my parents who don't really fancy pastries liked them as well!

The Matcha Raspberry Crossiant came rather huge and they were stuffed with matcha and raspberry cream. Though the matcha flavour is subtle, the tangy citrus raspberry flavour complemented the sweet cream so well! It got me craving for more 😍 the pastry may not be crispy after leaving it overnight, but it was fluffy!

The Matcha Vanilla Cube was also another delight. This time the cream is slightly different, as the matcha taste was stronger and it was more aromatic with the vanilla within! It was also sweeter than the former.

Thank you @bakeopedia.sg for the delicious bakes! Definitely coming back to try out your other creations 😍

Space @ Kovan does seem like a spot where there is no shortage or patisseries and viennoiseries — the building is already home to establishments such as that of The Bread Rack and Three Nuts Baker; both of which are pretty well-known for their bakes and pastries even though they are newer names to the F&B industry that had only been established in recent years. It seems that yet another new patisserie / viennoiserie has since found home within Space @ Kovan — Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety is an establishment that had recently opened its doors there, taking up a shop unit that is located just right beside The Bread Rack. It seems that the folks at Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety had intended for the space to carry a “chic” vibe that is slightly different from other cafes in what seems to be an attempt to stand out from other establishments — they had chosen to go for a black facade and decor scheme for the shop space, whilst also bringing the entrance of the shop unit back to create an area for outdoor seating space that does make their unit pretty unique as compared to their neighbours. Despite its dark colour scheme, the interior of the space is well-lit; the furniture and fittings coming with marble-esque and wooden accents to match the black walls and ceilings and the concrete floors. One would also notice that there is a functioning chocolate fountain on display by the window — adding to the “dramatic” looks of the space. Whilst Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety mainly focuses on their offerings of cakes, danishes and chocolate truffles which one can view in the display chiller at the counter, they also do serve up savoury pies and lasagne in their “Lunch” section of the menu, while there also all-day brunch, bagels and pancakes for those looking for a meal to go for here. Beverages available at Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety includes coffee, chocolate-based beverages, tea and Ribena.

Dropping by Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety after lunch, we decided to give the items in the “Lunch”, “All-Day Brunch” and “Bagel & Pancake” sections of the menu a miss. Instead, we were more keen to give their range of patisseries and danishes a try. After skimming through the selection of danishes that they have to offer in their display chiller, we decided to go for the Bacon Potato Danish. Patrons would be served a fresh Danish from the kitchen upon making their order; the ones displayed in the display chiller are largely meant for display purposes only. Based on the description stated on the tag for the item in the display chiller, the Bacon Potato Danish includes elements such as honey mustard. The Danish comes served atop a plate that comes with a look that is as dramatic as the decor of the space — the customised plate that comes with embossed with their logo comes with embossed patterns occupying half the plate itself. Digging into the Bacon Potato Danish, we felt that the danish was pretty decent overall — the crisp pastry was flaky with layers of lamination being observed in the interior. The danish is best to be had went hot however, since it has the tendency to soak up some of the moisture from the elements above it such as that of the honey mustard and mayonnaise above. The bacon on the top of the danish is crisp and chewy; there is a little hint of spiciness from the chili powder (the same ones that one would expect to come in a shaker bottle at a pizza establishment), whilst a slight sweet-savoury note comes from the honey mustard itself. Inside the danish somewhere in the middle, one would be able to find soft chunks of potato in the danish — all that with the mayonnaise bringing all the elements together.

With the menu at Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety being particularly extensive and that we have only tried a single food item from them, we found that it would not be quite appropriate for us to comment if Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety is a spot that is worth making the trip down for. That being said, we did find the Bacon Potato Danish that we had to be rather satisfactory — there was nothing much to complain about for the item, though it does vaguely remind us of a similar item from a commercial chain of bakeries that we used to love especially in both its composition and the flavour profile; it wasn’t too surprising to find ourselves liking this item considering how similar it was to something that we grew up with. We had also given their Iced Shaken Black Tea Cocoa w/ Oat Milk Foam a go to accompany the Bacon Potato Danish that we had ordered; we could not really feel much of the tea in this one, though the oat milk foam element does seem pretty strong after all — it also comes with a fancy looking, customised square glass that is probably one of the strangest glasses we had come across at a cafe thus far. Prices of their danish and cake offerings range generally between $4 to $9.50, while the hot savoury food for brunch / lunch ranges from $9.50 to $20.90 — the prices being rather reasonable for a cafe of its type though we are unable to comment on their offerings since we have not given them a go. With more established names such as Three Nuts Baker and The Bread Rack being located just steps away from Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety, we would reckon that it is a rather competitive environment for Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety — this especially when both Three Nuts Baker and The Bread Rack does seem to have offerings that carry a more artisanal touch overall. That being said, Bakeopedia / Cacaosociety does provide a somewhat posh environment (albeit excessive at times) for their patrons to soak themselves into, if that is what its patrons would fancy having.
