If you're a fan of cold and chewy noodles, be sure to try this. Served with natto [fermented soy beans], okra [ladies' finger], and grated mountain yam, this dish is said to have numerous health benefits too!

Traditional meets modern contemporary in this unique dessert. The iron-fried Japanese tofu is served with a variety of fruits, topped off with Akari's house-made sauce of egg yolk, granulated sugar and fruit liqueur. We haven't had anything quite like this. 📷 @oliviagiroud

Sashimi - imported from Tsukiji marketing. Featuring Japanese blue fin tuna toro, two kind of white meat fish and huge spot prawns, the sashimi is sliced to wafer translucent thinness.

A beautifully executed work of art by Chef Murata at Akari Japanese Dining & Bar. This is part of the inaugural Kaiseki dinner ($100-$150) on top of their a la carte menu. The 10-course Kaiseki set menu will be available during dinner on weekdays and weekends coming end of April.

A mixed tempura don. Lightly battered whilst still had the crispy texture. The sushi rice, however, was a little letdown. It came in a big heap and was not light & fluffy. Some parts were hard. Only liked the tempura and sadly left much of the rice. My lunch kaki enjoyed his gindara (cod) but had the same disappointment with the rice.

But with every disappointment, there is always a saving grace. Service was good. The most important was the awesome lunch kaki @i_post_for_love A short (well...not too short or long) catch up session.
