Food —— Randomly walked past and saw this new shop and spotted their signature French Strawberry Cake with Genoise Sponge filled with Crème Mousseline & topped with Fresh Strawberries 🍓 which is too pretty too eat! Not the cheapest at $9, but look at the details and fresh strawberry inside 🥰 a worthy indulgence 😋 They also have japanese-style soy puddings and mochis 😊 sold out of their osmanthus which i will love to try next ‼️
Service —— A+ for packaging, for $9 takeaway no additional and given a cooler bag 😮

Aperia Mall is really seeing quite a crowd these days — a vast difference from what it used to be when the mall hadn’t seen the tenants of the now-defunct Golden Mile Complex moving into its premises; so much so that even tenants like McDonald’s that did not open during the weekends have also started operating full business hours much akin to most of their other outlets these days. While Aperia Mall had seen an influx of eateries that mostly were relocated from the former Golden Mile Complex, there are also new entrants such as Aimer La Patisserie that are not in any way related to those previously at Golden Mile Complex. Newly opened at Aperia Mall, Aimer La Patisserie can be found towards the end of the mall closer towards Carbon& within the air-conditioned area of the mall; this would also be the very first time that Aimer La Patisserie is operating as a brick-and-mortar store, considering how they have been operating as a online-based business prior to the opening of the Aperia Mall space. The interior space is mainly decked in wooden furniture and fittings; the dine-in seating being a little claustrophobic, but still comprises of cushioned seating for the comfort of patrons. It does seem that Aimer La Patisserie has placed quite a bit of emphasis on their Basque Burnt Cheesecake offerings, though it does offer a wide variety of bakes including that of jar cakes as well as Tartes & Puddings and a few flavours of Daifuku and even gelato; those looking for something savoury can also go for their UFO Sandwiches as well. For beverages, Aimer La Patisserie only serves up a small selection of espresso-based specialty coffee, though other beverages like iced teas, fizzes and their very own special concoctions listed under the “Specials” section of would likely be served in the near future.

Truth to be told, we found it pretty difficult to make a decision on which items to go for during our visit to Aimer La Patisserie; that was quite a large variety of items to go for, and all of them did seem to be pretty promising. The Daifuku wasn’t the item that first caught our attention amongst the selection of bakes they have to offer; that being said, we were pretty drawn to the Daifuku after noticing how they actually offer a Osmanthus Rice Wine rendition of the Daifuku — something which we felt was we rather unique and difficult to find despite the number of places that serves up Daifuku these days. The Osmanthus Rice Wine Daifuku features specks of Osmanthus petals on the Mochi skin; the Mochi skin coming with a slight floral note though also still thin, stretchy and chewy — not too dense, yet also does not stick to the teeth as well. We also detected a rather faint hint of grains in the Mochi skin alongside that floral note; seemingly coming from the rice wine as well. Biting into the Osmanthus Rice Wine Daifuku, the Daifuku comes filled with pastry cream within that is light and airy; made the Daifuku feel particularly cloud-like with a chew factor. The pastry cream does come with its own little surprise — one can find mini popping balls within the pastry cream here; these seemed to be of a lychee flavour, and adds a good textural contrast as one bites into them whilst going through the Osmanthus Rice Wine Daifuku. Overall, something which we found ourselves enjoying a little bit more than expected.

The addition of Aimer La Patisserie to Aperia Mall does provide a good option for dessert in the neighbourhood that it is situated in. No doubt that the Lavender neighbourhood is one where many specialty coffee joints, patisseries and Boulangeries are situated at; that being said, most of them are located closer to the Jalan Besar neighbourhood which is slightly away from where Aperia Mall is — whilst Aperia Mall has seen much of a new life with all the Thai eateries moving into the complex, Aimer La Patisserie answers ti the lack of dessert establishments within the mall with the exception of Au Croissant which has multiple locations across the island. Apart from the Osmanthus Rice Wine Daifuku, we had also given the Dark Wood 70% as well as the Strawberry Basque a try — both items being items that are being listed in the “Cakes” section of the menu at Aimer La Patisserie. Between the two, we preferred the Dark Wood 70%; one of the two jar cakes that are being served up at Aimer La Patisserie (the other being the Taro Floss) — the Dark Wood 70% is being described on the menu to come with elements such as Black Forest Gateau, Chocolate Sponge Cake, Cherries, Brandy Infused Red Sour Cherries Ganache, Valrhona Chocolate 70% and Dark Chocolate shavings. Essentially their rendition of a Blackforest cake served in a jar cake format, the chocolate is undeniably rich here yet not too overpowering — the Brandy Infused Red Sour Cherries Ganache cuts through the bittersweet ness of the chocolate with its zippy note while the alcohol-soaked cherries provided a good chew with a slightly boozy bite to satisfy those looking for that alcoholic punch some would look for in a Blackforest Cake. Prices of the bakes at Aimer La Patisserie are generally below the price tag of $10 per item; a price that we reckon is pretty much competitive to what other similar establishments would be charging; the UFO Sandwiches are priced between $5 to $8.50. Considering how the quality of the bakes at Aimer La Patisserie does resonate with the price tag, we would think that Aimer La Patisserie is a decent spot to stop over for some cakes and drinks after some shopping at the Thai Supermarket there, especially if one does not mind the slightly tighter seating space due to space constraints here.
