Hard not to get fat from the vast selections of homely ytf items here
...shame on me lol. In my virgin review, I ordered Hakka-style meepok and it sucked. Here I was with the exact same combination. The noodles were so alkaline it's ridiculous. Anyway, I'd still come back because the ingredients are great. Apart from the pungent yam mushroom ball, there's this fried meat-fish ball and something like 炸蛋, made famous by Tiong Bahru Pau. Unpictured is also a slab of pork belly, which is uncommon at ytf stalls.
Where else can you get bah chor mee + Yong tau foo combination! Amazing delicious hidden gem
Fatty aunt YTF offers a variety of over 30 ingredients. Their fried ones though sinful but very tasty. Feel free to choose from a variety of soup base/dry ones such as minced meat with mee pok, just like bar chor mee.
Price: $6+
They have the usual soup and dry styles, laksa, Ampang and Hakka. I went with Hakka because they labelled it signature. My ba chor mee pok is hidden under my ytf but don't care because it sucked. The fried items here were greasy and shiok but the noodles were possibly the most alkaline I've eaten. Most of my ytf picks passed but the standout was this yam mushroom ball. Also very homey eatery, although I probably escaped the crowd. Family run, decorated like an HDB flat, screening FTA TV, ordering was quite casual and the kids were hanging around and doing homework.
Laksa broth Yong Tau Foo.
