Jia Jia Tang Bao is possibly the best XLB in my life. The XLB is only made upon ordering. The skin is neither too thin nor thick, and holds well the flavourful piping hot soup and pork fillings. Well worth the 30 min wait #wewinshanghai
Had to queue for 30 mins only to be told their best sellers - the meat dumplings were sold out. The soup within was so fresh. Much much better than Nan Xiang Xiao Long at Yu Yuan.
Glad that I'm here as this place is top of my list in my Shanghai itinerary.
The meat:skin ratio is perfect; skin is barely there to encase the savory filling. .
GINGER IN VINEGAR (not pictured): This is only available at an additional cost, but worth every cent. Special mention for the vinegar - it has a light fragrance, is not too tart, and compliments rather than overpowers the meat! I can drink the vinegar on its own (and I did ☺️). I love vinegar ❤️
