OMG! What I absolutely love about this bowl of pig organ soup is the liver...it's actually not as red as it looks.. Pardon my lousy camera.. The ingredients were generous and I even refilled my soup!
The soup and the liver was superb! The other stuff was pretty ordinary but the organs weren't foul smelling at all :).. Also, there is another shop called cheng mun chee kee located at 24 foch road.. I'm not sure which one is the authentic one.. But the foch road one seems to have much more patrons.. Taste wise, they are pretty similar.. But the meat in foch road store sure taste better, I think the soup is slightly thicker as well.. But the one on jalan besar (so called authentic one) has way better liver! So soft and tender.. Nicely done.. Foch road.. U overcooked yours!
My opinion is you should try both and decide which do you like more...if not for the liver I'd most probably go for foch road.. Oh, also, if you don't like your soup sour..rmb to exclude the salted vegetables, I think that's the ingredient making in sour.. Rmb to get your seat b4 ordering :) #localsgfood #pigorgan #burpple #猪什 #lavender #comfortfood #pigliver
Shit.. I've been having a lot of rice bowls lately.. Especially my chirashi bowls..anyway decided to heed my colleague's suggestion and get this for lunch..
It was pretty crowded when we got there close to 1pm but luckily we still got a seat :)..
The portion of tuna and salmon was really generous! I finished my rice much before my fish..it was fresh and chewy as well :D
The miso soup however was weird.. A hint of bitter.. Not my favourite chirashi, but don't mind going back for more :D
Food 3.7/5
Oh, the staff was friendly too :D

Back for more kaisendon from Teppei!
Couldn't resist this.. Look at those juicy salmon roe! Yums..and those yummy pieces of salmon and tuna.. This is really something to die for.
However I still prefer the one I had in the tanjong pagar branch.. Even though the salmon here is better (I think my previous visit was just a bad day), the flavours, the tuna, the swordfish and the wasabi is better in the TP branch.. Still I'd eat this again :) #burrple #chirashi #timbreplus
This may not look like much but oh man...
This is my comfort food...beats 328 katong laksa in terms of taste and price!
I love everything in my bowl.. I even added 2 portions of the freshest and yummiest cockles ($1 per portion)..yum yum..and spam loads of laksa leaves :D
The soup is just at the right thickness but I just wish it was spicier but no worries..there's chilli paste on every table.
For katong laksa lovers out there, be sure to try this :) #katonglaksa #hollandvillage #363 #burpple
Too bad I'm a slow eater :( the chicken thigh was tender and flavourful and stewed long enough that the soft bones and cartilage was soft enough to chew on *crunch crunch*. Nothing too great with the bread but no complaints since its just an accompanying side.
The base however was heaven, it's not thick at all and it was like soup. At least I treated it as such.. Love the flavour and the herbs infused in it.
Definitely returning for more. Place was pretty good except for the fact it was kinda loud making conversation difficult (bad design of the space i guess)
Food 4.1/5
Place 4/5 (bonus points being so cold as I was melting outside)

Decided to try this after our blood donation.
The process of getting the tables and placing our orders is utterly confusing. 1st, you get a table (ask for help) then only you go and place your order at the counter.
The ramen itself was something different, never had dry ones before. I would definitely recommend this for truffle fanatics. For me, I'd return for seconds but I don't think I'll crave for this.
The chashu was really dry and unappetising but heck.. I'm hungry.. Egg is normal. They were quite generous with the truffle though.. I could definitely have another portion of ramen with the truffle.

Service / ambience 3/5

Decided to head down to The Betterfield before they move to a new location.
The dish looks awfully simple.. Yet again, steak is best served simple :).
I got my steak medium rare (best way to have steak)..the meat was tender and flavourful but I would have definitely preferred it more moist.
But the mustard (was it mustard? Truffle mustard?) was super good that my dear friend finished hers and stole from my other colleague. Haha.. Overall 3.7/5 and service could have been much better but certainly worth it for $17.90.

Put off tanuki raw for quite some time as I've read some negative reviews but turns out they were wrong.. Happy with my rice bowl.. The short ribs were very tasty and chewy. And the foie gras.. Generous portion :) Service was prompt and excellent.
The only thing I didn't like was the rice, too dry, hard and not flavourful enough.
Still, this is super value for money as its $19.90 ++ for lunch!

It's Wild Honey Day! Yums..didn't reserve this time but the wait was bearable - 10min.
Happy monkey here with my scandinavian brunch..had this before but this is the first time that I was asked how would I like my salmon done - medium or well-done *puzzled*.
Parts of the dish:
1) Rosti - nothing special, I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't like crispy stuff so I only like the parts which were soft and not crispy.
2) Grilled asparagus - nicely charred while maintaining the flavour
3) Salmon - yums, it was really moist and original in taste..however the charred parts of the skin were bitter.
4) Tomatoes - best part of the dish! Sweet with a little hint of sour and extremely juicy. It was also grilled, so it's like hot tomato soup in my mouth :).
Overall the dish was 4/5. The execution however was 3/5. Will be great if the rosti was more consistent and the charred part of the salmon skin not bitter. This costs S$28++ btw.
Finally had a chance to try this bowl of goodness!
I usually don't really like the tuna in my chirashi but surprisingly the tuna in this yummy bowl is much better than the salmon.
The little scallops and swordfish were good too! And the fresh wasabi! Yums..my friend and I just ate it on its own! The dressing used was just perfect, gives the fish more flavour yet not overwhelming it :)
Best of all? It's only $15++ :D definitely come back for more..
Decided to try something different at Table Manners as I've always gotten the King's Burger (yummy). This was their special item for the week - lamb sausage.
I quite like the mash potatoes and if you like sausages with less fat then lamb sausage is the way to go. It's just a little on the salty side though.
Chicken based broth that I like :)
