I love this striploin rice bowl ($13) from Two Hana! It looks unassuming but the combination of kimchi, onsen egg, striploin, caramelised onions and some of their magical sauce makes this quite on a league of its own. Although it looks small in portion I think it’s still quite filling. Recommend to share and get some of the sides to accompany with the rice bowl. After all, Two Hana boasts many interesting sides as well.

Been here twice and I must say I still want to come back again! I think Hans Im Glück, which originated from Munich, lives up to its name and did not disappoint the long queues that snake around republic plaza during lunch. The burgers are hearty and big and the sides are delicious. Burgers start from around $17. But I would recommend going at lunch so that you can get the lunch set. That is an additional $5 for two drinks and a large side.

I came here 3 times in 4 months because it was my comfort food and in my opinion value for money! If you choose the beef and pork option, every portion offers generous ingredients of sliced beef and pork, cheddar cheese, cheese cocktail sausages, cheese tofu, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, rice cakes and sweet potato starch noodles. You can also choose various soup bases such as kimchi or yuzu. An individual portion is about $12 and a double portion is about $25, super worth!

Missing the Spring Chicken ($24) I tried at Porta, never tasted a chicken as succulent and tender as this. I also enjoyed the atas yet cosy fine dining environment that Porta offers. Will come back again since they are almost always having promotions.

Popped by for a meal after a photoshoot and this place didn’t disappoint! My friends and I were expecting high prices and subpar food since this is a touristy area, but the dishes here like the satay (70 cents a stick), the chicken wings, stingray and vegetables were surprisingly yummy. Good for a day out with friends and family and you can walk off all your calories later
